FEATURED STORY:
THE INCREDIBLE HULK
Jen climbs on the Incredible Hulk.
Nestled in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, The Incredible Hulk towers over a floor of scree like a giant—and not the friendly kind. A steep 1,200-foot wall with long granite ridges stacked with striking spires culminates to its 11,300-foot summit, making a true marvel for climbers. We asked photographer Clayton Herrmann to help scout a location for this shoot to
complement our seasonal focus that draws inspiration from the power of the sun. With its routes like The Sunspot Dihedral and Solar Flare, The Incredible Hulk was the perfect choice. Come with Clayton on his first venture up this monster climb with his partners, Jennifer Poe and Casey Elliott.

DAYS

adventure in the Glacier Peak Wilderness in Washington.
Bouldering high above water.
DEEP WATER
SOUTH
Who says hard climbing stops in the summer? Karen Lane,
local Fayetteville, West Virginia, climber and photographer
is passionate about the special culture, people, and world-class
rock (even in the heat of summer) in the American south.
Trail running in Swiss Alps.
TRAILING THE
SWISS ALPS
Bound through Switzerland’s most majestic trails with
photographer Clayton Hermann and friends as they hustle
foot alongside the Bernese Oberland, completing an
impressive 72 miles and 21k+ of vertical feet climbed.
Mountaineer climbing up snow pack wall.
FUTURE
PAST
Who knows the last time the door to our archive closet had
been unlocked. Ironically, we weren’t the only ones feeling
nostalgic there. For stylist Terumi Murao, her discovery of
two original designs unlocked memories of her
mom’s style and its influence on her own.
Collage of Bryce and his Morocco travels.
SAND TO
SNOW
Morocco’s impeccably steep terrain, known among locals as ‘Idraren
Draren’—i.e. Mountains of Mountains—provided a sharp pivot from
MHW Athlete Bryce Barnes’ glacial home in Alaska. In this travel
journal, Bryce reflects on going beyond his comfort zone while
exploring a new place and being immersed in a different culture.
