MOUNTAIN HARDWEAR ANNOUNCES
THE EXPOSURE/2™
GORE‑TEX COLLECTION
RICHMOND, CA (December 17th, 2018)Mountain Hardwear under parent company Columbia Sportswear Company (Nasdaq: COLM) announces its Spring 2019 product highlights.

This month, Mountain Hardwear celebrates its 25th anniversary with the early launch of its new Spring 2019 Exposure/2™ GORE‑TEX collection. With jackets, bibs, and pullover styles made from GORE-TEX Pro, Active, and PACLITE® fabrics, the Exposure/2 collection is Mountain Hardwear’s most capable GORE-TEX collection ever.

When Mountain Hardwear launched the original Exposure GORE‑TEX jacket twenty-five years ago, it became a technical icon. With the new collection, the brand targets the emerging generation of climbers who appreciate performance and sustainability combined with a perspective on style.

“Our new GORE‑TEX line is for the new generations of climbers and mountain enthusiasts. The products remain technically focused but have a fresh and youthful spirit,” says Steve Adams, Senior Outerwear Product Line Manager.

Driven by a philosophy of environmental optimism, the Mountain Hardwear team designed the Exposure/2 collection with Gore’s most sustainable fabrics and finishes available, including GORE‑TEX fabrics featuring recycled nylon, solution dye, and PFC-free C0.

“There are more environmentally-responsible materials available today than ever before, and we simply chose to work with the most sustainable options,” says Peter Valles, VP of Design and Brand Creative.

In paying homage to the original styles, the new Exposure/2 GORE-TEX Pro Jacket and Bib references the 1993 palette in a boldly color-blocked colorway for men and women. This progressive style features bluesign® approved GORE‑TEX Pro fabric, colored with solution-dye technology, a more sustainable process than traditional methods.

“The incorporation of recycled and solution-dyed textiles has the potential to significantly lower the environmental impact of the textile materials used to make GORE‑TEX garments,” says Bernhard Kiehl, Gore Fabrics Sustainability Leader.
