The V stitching of the down is flattering, the zipper tabs are large, which is great when you are wearing gloves. There is soft fluff around the neck. My "better" down vests have detachable hoods & are more fitted. I love fitted, especially since most vests are too tight at the armpits to actually wear anything thick underneath. This best is fairly snug at the armpits without being fitted at the waist (granted, my waist is small, so I can only buy Northface or Patagonia Slim Fit).

I work in a lab where it stays relatively cold all the time, so this vest is perfect in keeping me warm under my lab coat (but not too warm). It's light and very functional. The down does start to pop out in various places, but overall...VERY satisfied for my 1st MHW purchase.

What an amazing fit, great warmth (too warm some places), and I have gotten compliments on the style as well.

I can then keep the room temp 2-3 degrees lower than I normally set it, and I'm toasty warm. The vest is very well made, and I love the bright pink color (deep blush). I exchanged the XS for the S, as I'm between sizes, and the XS was just slightly too small. I also plan to wear this vest under my jacket for added warmth, on super cold days. I love that it's machine washable.

Unfortunately MH doesn't carry that product any more. The ghost whisperer seems close but its version of black is a bit too shiny for my taste. This Ratio down vest was very warm but the collar was bulky and it generally did not seem to be cut according to the usual mtn hardwear shape patterns. Not thrilled with it, but I would have kept it as a warm vest to wear with layers, but after 3 wearings it is losing little down feathers at many of the seams. I am returning it .... please bring back the nitrous vest!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Woods from Perfect! I'm petite and I've really struggled to find a flattering down vest that doesn't gape and sag. I'm 5' 3" and 34B, and the XS version of this vest fits perfectly. It's just big enough that I can wear a hoodie or sweater under it, but also snug enough that I don't look like the Michelin (wo)Man. Other things to love: (1) the down doesn't come poking out; (2) the zipper has been lined with nice fabric so you don't get that terrible frigid metal pressed against your neck or mouth; (3) there are inner pockets so you can stash lightweight items safely; (4) it's washable.

( I ordered up a size from M since it said the fit runs a little small --- (Typically wear 36-38) but the large is really big through chest so will exchange.)
