Reviews

Women's Heratio™ 15°F / -9°C Down Sleeping Bag is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not quite as warm as I was hoping I tested this bag out on a long weekend in Indian Creek. I didn't have a thermometer, but the first night was probably in the mid-30s (definitely above freezing) and I was cold in this bag, even with a liner, wearing wool long underwear, and sleeping on a thick insulated pad (the ThermaRest Luxury Map). I am a very cold sleeper; however, I was hoping this bag would be warm enough for 30-degree nights based on the 15-degree rating. No way would I have been even close to comfortable if it had been in the 20s. Interestingly my feet weren't cold, but I couldn't close up the bag enough to keep a draft out. I agree with the other reviewer that adding a draft collar would make a huge difference. The next two nights were warmer (maybe in the 40s?) and I was very comfortable (again with a liner, long underwear and the same pad). I was looking for a bag that would cover me for temperatures in the 30s to 50s. (I'm trying not to bring my bulky-but-very-warm 0-degree bag everywhere! That's the Mountain Hardwear Hotbed Torch 0 degree women's bag and I highly recommend that one for winter car camping.) So this bag isn't exactly what I was hoping for on the warmth side. However, it is well made, the zipper doesn't snag, and it fits great. I also think that it's a good value for the price, especially on sale. All that said, this will be my go-to bag for the summer and it should cover me in most conditions. I'll just wear extra layers on the colder nights. Fit-wise I have to say THANK YOU MOUNTAIN HARDWEAR for making sleeping bags that fit women that are 5'7" or 5'8"! (I'm just over 5'7".) Regular length women's bags from most manufacturers only fit to 5'6", and women's long bags are too long and I have to heat so much extra space that I'm never warm enough. Mountain Hardwear's women's regular bags fit up to around 5'8" or 5'10" and to my knowledge they're the only brand that does that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My daughter loves this bag I purchased a couple of Ratio and Heratio 15 degree bags. I spread one out and tried it briefly in my house. My daughter tried it out and immediately fell in love with it. She insisted on sleeping in it on multiple occasions as it's very comfortable and warm. I got sweated out by how warm it was and had to sleep with it open like a quilt. My daughter seemed fine with it all zipped up. I'd love to test it at its limits sometime. As other reviewers have noted, you do have to be careful when zipping the bag closed while in it as the zipper can snag. That's about the only weakness, but many bags fall in that same boat. Overall, it's a decent, warm bag for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product is exactly as stated Great product. The only thing that would make it better is a collar around your neck to keep the warmth in a bit better.
