Women's Ghost Whisperer™ Down Hooded Jacket is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 50.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite Jacket! I got this jacket specifically to have a layer for when I got done snow and winter biking- I needed something that would pack down in a frame bag and would also keep my temperatures in a good zone after stopping activity. Not only is this jacket amazing for bike packing, it is breathable when you are doing some moderate activity in colder temps, so you don't soak through every layer you have. If you live in Alaska and are active, this jacket is highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolute essential I've had this jacket for almost 3 years now and I absolutely love it! It has been my go to midlayer since I first got it. It's light enough that I never question chucking it in my pack on any ski touring trip or backcountry hike. My sweat from over the years has discoloured a few spots (looking at you armpits!), but I have zero issue with this as it's only minor, and honestly, who on the trail even cares. My only other issue is that the pocket zippers seem to constantly catch the seams on the sleeves. The fabric itself is more durable than it looks, however the seams can be very delicate. Even so, I would still recommend this to anyone looking for an incredible down jacket that can packet down teeny to be carried anywhere without a second thought.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Widerness Tested I just cannot say enough positive about this jacket. Lightweight packs down inside it's own pocket and crazy warm! We spent 10 days in the Sawtooth Wilderness in mid September. Expecting rain and colder temperatures we encountered snow also! With the past few years weather patterns we thought we would have about a two week window before the snow. Anyway this just allowed for a better test of the gear we had. This jacket is just one of those items that is in your pack always just one of those necessities. Due to the inclimate weather it was a wonderful performer. Great for wearing in your sleeping bag making coffee. As well as helping keep your feet warm at night. Just take it off because it is pre-heated zip it up pull the sleeves inside of itself place your feet in it and push it down to your footbox of your sleeping bag! Oooooh instant warmth!!! I got the large I'm 5'7" and 140.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, warm jacket - super shiny The jacket fits great and it warm. Unfortunately, the finish is super glossy. I've avoided buying many down jackets for the same reason, but the photo of this style didn't look shiny. I loved the olive, but with the gloss it looks a lot lighter in color than the photo. If you're okay with the gloss, it's a great jacket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great jacket, funky colors Perfect for thru-hiking the AT late in the season...warm, lightweight, makes a great pillow. Jacket fits well in the body, though I find the hood to be a little large. My biggest complaint is with the colors...they're all kind of funky (and not in a good way). I got the teal color and I think it would be so much more attractive if it weren't two-toned. Same with some of the other colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This backpacker will not turn back Once you go light you won't want to go back. Excellent jacket. The more neutral colors the better.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great Coat, but Blurple is UGLY My wife loves her Ghostwhisper jacket. It's so light and warm and packable. We had to return it after a couple years for the same cheap zipper problem that others have cited. We bought the Blurple, thinking that it was just a silly way of merchandising the purple color, which was the original color we bought. The two toned monstrosity that arrived was so ugly that we returned it immediately. It's very hard to tell from the web picture of how ugly this "color" is, but be forewarned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ghost Whisper Jacket This jacket is great for the outdoors. I take it camping and fishing. Just be careful because it is very delicate. It gets snagged on trees and other things. Thank goodness for tenacious tape!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Jacket Wore this on a recent backpacking trip and it was perfect. Super lightweight and packs down really small. In the evenings I'd wear the hood too and I wasn't cold at all. Only problem is the shoulders are a little tight, so I had to size up which made the torso a little big. But overall an awesome jacket that will see many camping and climbing trips.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful ultralight garment, but broad-shouldered ladies beware! For reference I am 5'10", 145 lbs with a slim/ athletic build and ordered size Medium. The bad: I so desperately wanted this jacket to work as it would have rounded out my sub-10 lb base-weight so perfectly. But, alas, I also experienced that awkward tight-armpit phenomenon that others reference. I am puzzled by this fit, as the arm length was plentiful, and width (both in the arms and body) was generous- to the point of being borderline too large/boxy/busty. I understand that this width accommodates layering, but nothing accommodates layering when you're binding in the shoulders and armpits. Length in the body is just barely long enough, and I imagine that while sizing up to a large may improve the length/ armpits, it would render the jacket so loose, that it would drastically decrease the garment's thermal efficiency. The good: This jacket is light- as air and incredibly packable. The non- adjustable hood is perfectly designed to be snug and windproof, while also able to accommodate a hat or extra layer and not blind your peripheral vision. The lightweight elastic drawstring at the waist has a fantastic integrated toggle, and does exactly what it needs to do- simply and efficiently. If your build is slightly shorter with more narrow/average shoulders, look no further than this jacket! Finally, this is an ULTRALIGHT jacket! Some reviewers have complained about the crinkle and shine of the fabric. If you want ultralight performance, you're going to have a crinkly, shiny jacket. It's just the nature of the technology at this point. I would advise you to not worry too much about style in the backcountry, and remind you that everyone will be crinkling away on their Neo-air sleeping pads anyway!
