Rated 1 out of 5 by from The size is not good Either it's too big or it's too small. They should make petite sizes

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome coat! REMOVE collar before washing!! LOVE this coat. Very light and warm. Perfect combination. Despite the labels not stating this you should remove collar before washing... Mine (collar) isn't the same since following washing directions for the coat on the label. SUCH a disappointment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plush warmth and stylish look! Received this for xmas and already in love with the warmth and attention to detail of specific features like the detachable hood and the soft liner throughout the upper portion. The zipper is a little tough but at least it does not move around at all.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from terrible zipper This jacket is pretty good except for a few flaws. The good: nice long sleeves, warm jacket, good length. The bad: there is no elastic in the sleeves to create a wind or snow-proof cuff. The fur on the hood is pretty short and there is no ability to to cinch the hood closed against the wind. The ugly: the zipper is awful, both directions, but trying to unzip is worse and is always a battle which is not ideal for everyday use which is necessary in MN.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Old version was better I don’t want to hurt anyone, but I wish I had followed all the reviews that implied that the old version of this coat was better. And I should say it definitely was (please bring the old version back) According my own experience because I did have the old version of this coat, which was amazing, well made, good hardware zipper, it had comfort cuffs, it was unique, it kept me going under temperatures below 0. I got the updated version because unfortunately my old coat needed to be replaced (zipper gave up) This new version is NOT as good as it appears, zipper is very cheap, I am having problems unzipping my coat, the comfort cuffs are “gone”, the pockets are not as deep as the older version, the material in general seems cheaper, it fits a bit tighter, I am not sure whether is smaller but definitely feels different (I am 5.2 and weight 129 lbs) however, IT DOES serve it purpose which is keeping me warm when needed. I only wish the zipper was better. I have always liked this company, and I think they have great products, I have chosen and preferred them over other competitor lead brands, but I am honestly sad about the change on this particular coat. If you want to be in the snow, or walking your dog in extremely cold temperatures, going around town and if you don’t care about LOOKS and heardware zippers, then this is the coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Dog Walking Jacket I bought this jacket for when I walk my dog in the cold mornings in Ontario, Canada. It works perfect and keeps me very warm. I am 5ft and 120lbs, I ordered a small and it fits with room for layers, I am sure I could of ordered an extra small but I didn’t want it too tight. The arms are very roomy. The fleece liner is very soft but it’s a shame it doesn’t go down the arms of the coat. The fur trim is removable which I really like. All and all this is a great jacket and I would recommend the purchase if you are on the fence. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Down Parka This coat is gorgeous and amazing, it exceeded my expectations-having never ordered from mountainhardware.com. I am looking forward to next winter when I can take full advantage of the coats warmth. It is light in weight, but so full of quality. I will definitely be order from mountainhardware.com again! Thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Women's Downtown Jacket (XS) I purchased this for my teenage daughter and, like the Butterlicious layering jacket, she does actually wear it, which is a plus with a teenage girl when dad is trying to find utility that doesn't appall her fashion sensibilities. This is a heavy jacket at 2 lbs; and even at XS, is a bit long for her (she is 4'10" @~75-80 lbs); but it does its job of keeping her warm during the few times it is cold enough where she actually needs a jacket like this here in the Pacific NW. The main zipper can be somewhat of a struggle from the bottom; but this is common with the heavy-zippered products at MH- and I believe will be remedied with break-in. The build quality is quite high, as one would expect from MH, a division of Columbia. She likes the faux-fur trim and, like the Ghost Whisperer line, the Q-shield water-resistant down helps keep her dry even though the outer layer isn't technically waterproof. The jacket compacts into a manageable size, though I wouldn't consider it for backpacking or hiking- it is way too heavy; that isn't its natural milieu. It is an excellent city jacket and outer layer that I (and more importantly, my daughter) can recommend for its use as described. On a separate and more general note, I have noticed a slight fall-off over the past decade in general for all performance clothing manufacturers' products, as they move actual production of the jacket overseas (Vietnam, Myanmar, et al.) instead of in the US or Canada- except for the exceptionally high-end mountaineering products, which are still made in Canada. Mountain Hardwear was started right here in Seattle and since their having been featured prominently in the 1998 'Everest' IMAX documentary, it has been great and I've been proud to see their products take their place along side the other exceptional pinnacle brands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome warmth This jacket was purchased as a gift and the person loved it. Provides superior warmth and it's true to size. The waterproofing is good for medium rain in northeast weather.
