Large, lightweight, functional day packOn receipt took my kid out for a weekend of day hikes. Capacity of pack is more than generous for days of rain and dry forest hiking. When bladder is hung in slot find that the fill cap falls right underneath the waterproof pocket, and greatly diminishes volume of that pocket. By the MH sizing chart I fit their M size garments, S-R length pants, which is true for items I have. Would not recommend for a person of smaller stature, based on my preferences. Padded shoulder straps are about 2-3 inches shy of minimum adjustment, worn over a t-shirt. I found good fit via waist belt and sternum strap. Hiked with light load, binoculars, rain jackets, cans juice, sandwiches and oranges, FAK, and bladder water, with plenty room left. Compression straps kept contents snug on back and little shifting. External mesh pocket was fine for easy access rain jackets for showers, but not good for small items for risk of rolling out. External water bottle pockets are large and canted forward somewhat, but did not use, so no comment on usefulness. The fleece-lined pocket at top is sized for sunglasses and headlamp. Construction materials are light weight, in a good way, but I might like a bit more if bottom of pack was cordura, for withstanding the lava rock better. On our hikes I found an LL Bean sternum strap, and noticed it would have been hooked onto the shoulder strap. This MH daypack has similar style attachment of sternum strap to shoulder strap, so going to figure some way of securing it better. Craftmanship is fine throughout, and weighs in at 542 grams. Pleased so far.

Lightweight, spacious, and compressibleThis would make a great pack for mountain biking, but I bought this for bicycle commuting. The material is very lightweight, with a foam back support. It is a nice pack, large enough to fit a 12 pack of LaCroix cans along with a few other groceries. It has compression straps on the sides to keep it smaller when empty, a small waterproof pouch and a nice large mesh pocket on the outside. It also has two open pockets on the lower sides.
