Reviews

Scrambler™ Roll Top 20 OutDry® Backpack is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Waterproof daypack for all conditions I bought this as a daypack for local hikes and day trips. I wanted a completely watertight pack so I wouldn't have to worry about my gear getting wet under any circumstances. I own the RT40 and Ozonic 50 so getting the smaller RT20 was a logical choice. Construction is typical top-notch MH quality. Side pockets are surprisingly deep and will easily hold bear spray or a 24oz water bottle (a 1L Nalgene fits too but cuts into the interior space). The roll-top design keeps water out from all angles and allows the pack to be compressed/expanded as necessary. Aside from the side pockets there's no other organization, just one cavernous main compartment. This can be a plus or minus depending on how you like to pack your gear (I see it as a plus). There's also a wide variety of colors available instead of the usual blue, black, etc. There are some things that keep the pack from being perfect though. I would like to see a security clip for keys; right now they just fall to the bottom of the pack and have to be fished out at the end of the day. It would also be nice if there was a small interior pocket for wallet, etc, similar to the Singletrack series. There's also no exterior stuff pocket for wet gear, which seems like an egregious omission since there's nothing but an empty panel between the two side pockets. I know other MH packs have these features, but not in a 18-24L size with the watertight roll-top. All in all it's a good waterproof daypack for hikes in all conditions, but I'm already looking forward to version 2.0 (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)
