Men's Sharkstooth™ Jacket is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I was looking for I also have a Torsun jacket and am very happy with it. As I was just looking for a jacket a little bit tougher for higher routes with mixed ice & rock climbing at higher altitude, the Sharkstooth seemed a good candidate. I must admit I haven't been disappointed! Tough, resilient, wind proof, WATERPROOF, the 70D material does the job. What I find amazing is its ability to evacuate transpiration. Truly incredible. When it's really cold outside, I just use multi layering: merino short sleeve Tshirt + long sleeve base layer + MH Stretch Down jacket; perfect combination for alpine climbing. The S size is perfect for me: 5'8 for 136 Lbs

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, solid, mid weight, well made shell jacket Intended use: skiing This ski season has not yet begun, so I can't be certain about how this shell will fit when skiing. Trying it on at home with a thick fleece sweater and a down vest over that, also with my ski hemet on, seems it will do the trick. My goal of course is to have ample looseness in the neck so that the hood does not restrict movement when looking side to side. The hood does amply fit well over the helmet, plenty large enough, and for those without a helmet there are draw strings to tighten down the hood mid way up the head and also around the neck. There are plenty of pockets, all seams in the jacket are waterproof taped to thwart rain from getting in, the material breaths better than Gore-Tex according to studies, and at least when new, keeps rain out. The past shell from MH sure did anyway.. In the past I have purchased two other Mountain Hardware items, a down jacket and a shell. Mountain Hardware makes great stuff, it is tough enough for taking some abuse, and if the product isn't up to standards their warranty will likely take care of you. The size; I am 5'8 and fairly skinny, at about 145 pounds, so this shell, being a medium, is about right for me. I think anyone taller or heavier weight ought to go with a larger size if you plan to have as many thick layers of fleece and a down vest underneath it. If you are not intending to use it in winter with many layers a medium should fit people that weigh more. Height is about right as well, the length is said to be 30 inches down the back, so reaches about 2-3 inches below one's belt, so should suffice keeping snow from coming up your back..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a keeper Very comfortable fit, just barely oversized but not in a bad way; just enough room to stuff some layers in. The neck fits a little large, but it's nice to be able to tuck your chin in, if you're into that type of thing. Pit zips are small, but the jacket breathes unbelievably well. For a hardshell, it's top notch. Overall great build, comfortable as heck, and is very easy to move in, all the while providing superior protection from the elements. I have an older MHW jacket that is a similar model and it is amazing, but this one blows it out of the water. Been a big believer in this company since inception so I'm stoked to see new products that keep impressing me no matter what I throw at them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shell This shell fits great. It has deep pockets for storage. It's truly waterproof and windproof. The only gripe I have is that the hood doesn't zip into the collar so I fold it down in the inside of it. Other than that it's a great shell. It should also hold up well in very cold places like Vermont. I had Mountain Hardware in Vermont and it worked excellent.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from bad hood I tested in a shower and seems waterproof but the hood is too big to fit on your head without a helmet and no many options to adjust it also, the brim hood is very small so your face is totally exposed to the rain, snow, wind.So if you are looking for more protection this hood will not help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hard shell! I wore this jacket on the first day of a summit attempt on Mt Rainier and it was perfect! Kept off the rain and I didn't over heat. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all purpose technical jacket My first outing with this jacket was late winter hike, weather went from sun to rain to hail with winds 0-20 mph. I wore this jacket through it all adjusting with pit zips, and other jacket features. I was comfortable all day. Will be using this jackets on summit attempts. Fit is looser to allow layering with a puffy underneath.
