Men's Monkey Man™ Grid II Jacket is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fleece jacket Third fleece jacket and they are always warm and functional. I have very broad shoulders and long arms for my size and these always fit great. Breast pocket is a little too high

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Warm and soft I got this before a winter excursion. When my outer coat would not keep me warm, all I had to do was throw this on underneath and I was immediately hot. I've never worn a jacket or fleece that is so warm. The outside is super soft. The inside is partially lined with mesh to help keep you dry. The elastic sides are a nice touch for mobility. The hand pockets double as vents. The waist tightener is strange at first, but once you figure it out it works fine. The only real negative I've seen is similar to what others have reported - it's very fitted in the armpits. I wish I could go up a size to give myself more room in the armpits, but the rest of the jacket would be too big so I'm living with tighter armpits. It's noticeable with any layer underneath, even a baselayer, and I wouldn't want to put much more than two thin layers underneath or it would quickly become uncomfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feels awesome but fit is small A lot of my friends have this jacket and swear by it. It feels and looks great however for me, I have to get one size bigger because it fits too tight under the arm pits to be comfortable in my usual size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have item I've owned a Monkey Man jacket since it first came out around 2006. It is a must have item in my wardrobe. I've had the original Monkey Man and the Monkey Man 200 in the past, and the Monkey Man Grid II is the best yet. It fits great, and when Mountain Hardware said that it was warmer and lighter than previous Monkey Man jackets, I didn't believe them, but it is. It's a very nice jacket. I've been wearing it all fall season and I couldn't be happier.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Seemingly Cheap Garment After years of loving Mtn Hardwear's fluffy, soft and cozy jackets, this version is a huge disappointment. Very thin and would require multiple other layers to keep warm in colder weather. We are going to return it. Bring back the higher loft version please!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from getting monkey own similar products by other leading manufacturers, and, granted every body is different as to how we like things to fit and how warm/cool we want them to keep us, however, for me, the grid II is what i keep coming back to (and now i have a few of them). fits beautifully (true to my size: pretty dang average/medium). it's the one that i throw on as a base layer or 2nd layer depending on time of year and if something else is going over the top of it. high quality even after lots of washing and wearing hard. not to mention, some beautiful and cool colors that mountain hardware has come out with. and, they have always been good to me in regards to customer service and helpfulness.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight, comfortable and warm This jacket is very comfortable and moderately warm by itself, it feels like Harambe himself is swaddling me in his arms as if I were his own. When layered under a shell jacket, it allows your body to breathe and retain body heat. Very comfortable, sometimes I fall asleep while wearing it, often dreaming I am part monkey and part man in a land where primates rule the world. This is a great jacket with both form and function that won't let you down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It has THUMB-HOLES! This is my 4th Mountain Hardwear jacket and 9th piece of their gear overall. I didn't really need another midlayer/jacket fleece, but it had THUMBHOLES! Heheh. It's quickly found a place in my heart, and I presently favor it over my other Mountain Hardwear fleece jackets. It's quite comfortable from the 60s all the way down to mid 20 degrees. I'm 6"1, 193 lbs and the large fits great, though the collar is snugger than my other Mountain Hardwear Fleece. It has a trim athletic fit, so laying over it is quite easy.
