Reviews

Men's Ghost Whisperer™ Down Jacket is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mountain Hardware at it's Finest The problem with reviews such as these is that they always come much too soon in the process, which is fine I guess, but retailers should contact me after a year or two to assess my experience with the product through some serious use. With that said, I fell in love with this jacket the moment I put it on. At 6'3" and 195 lbs, the size "large" that I purchased is an excellent fit. The little I've used it says its going to be great during the fall and spring chilly seasons as a stand-alone (I can already attest to it's value in wind and light rain), or as a layer during the colder months. It's also easily the lightest of the similar down jackets I own and packs incredibly tightly. I'm also unusually fond of the Dark Tannin color (does that make me odd?). You can't go wrong with this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product I already bought my third jacket, that truly shows how satisfied I’m with the product. I use it as my daily winter jacket and always have it with me on my hiking trips. The light weight, small pack size and the warmth it spends is an ideal combination. I have nothing negative to say about the product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This jacket is great. One of my friends had this jacket and since I liked how it looked I asked him about it. After finding out how light it was and how great he felt it kept him warm in the cold and comfortable when it warmed up I decided to order one for myself. Ordering it was simple and shipping came in on time. I have been wearing it off and on since I got it two weeks ago and I love it. Very comfortable jacket and my wife approves of it too, lol!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Ghost Whisperer (Shark) For 3 years this little jacket has been going strong. From the ruggedly beautiful woods of Northern Maine to the Southern Kodiak Alaska coast it's been one of my favorite jackets to have, it takes up so little space, fitting nicely in a backpack, quickly adding warmth when the sun sinks and the temperature dips, as an outer layer or as a sweater either way a great option. Up goes the zipper, out comes the smile!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super sweet jacket !!!! Simpley love this Mountain Hardware jacket. The very cut of this down jacket allows for a very streamlined look. While not compromising on its insulative capacity. The jacket is perfect for chilly days out and about, with a great fit and a sharp look to boot !! I would highly recommend this jacket to all :) Grant M. Ryan

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Function not fashion Just received my hoodless Ghost Whisperer in the mail. I bought this jacket as a general lightweight insulator for backpacking which I will wear once I get into camp. I’ve used many others but want to give this a shot for its light weight. Initial impressions are that I’m pretty happy with the purchase. As others have noted, the lightweight fabric is fairly shiny (it doesn’t bother me, but may bother some who are looking at fashion rather than function). I’m 6’3”, 200 lbs with a 42 size chest and 17” neck. My arms are a bit longer than most people for my build, but the sleeves are quite long on this jacket and are perfect for me. If you have shorter arms you may find the sleeves will go over most of your hand. The jacket has a very althletic fit for my build (which I prefer - I don’t like jackets that are too baggy). You could easily fit a base layer and maybe a medium weight mid if it’s not too thick underneath. The neck size fits me just fine - I can zip it all the way up no problems. The fit on the neck is a bit strange though and seems to have more space in the back in the neck vs the front. It doesn’t choke me, but it’s a little snug in the front; something I can live with. The zipper is the only real issue I’ve found with the jacket. I understand they are trying to keep the weight down with such a light zipper but it’s not very well made. It zips up/down just fine but catches pretty badly at the bottom and it takes some careful manipulation when trying to unzip at the very tail end of its travel (it seems to get stuck on the very bottom). The 20° sleeping quilt I use has a very lightweight zipper as well but flawlessly and easily comes undone when zipping it apart with no effort. MH should look to something similar. All-in-all though, initially very happy with the purchase and dang, this thing is light which is awesome. Will report back once I use it on the trail in New England (probably the AT). :)
