Men's Ghost Whisperer™ Down Hooded Jacket is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 156.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent specific use down jacket Great down jacket if you are specifically looking for something light weight. Zippers feel delicate but have had no issues. Fabric is also light, somewhat translucent if back lit. If you are looking for an every day winter down jacket, this is not it. Probably would not ski the trees with it either. But if super light and super warm is your goal, great choice. Used it at Mammoth on a 15 degree day with a base layer, perfect all day, again, would not want to brush up against a tree, but it was not an off piste day. Also use it as my primary insulation layer for a few Rainier summits, excellent technical warm insulation layer. But again, its probably not the best choice for a day to day down jacket. I'm 6'0" and 180#, Large fits nice, maybe a tiny bit on the loose side, but the added mobility is appreciated. And fits well under my MH Dragonsback shell size M. MH sizing is a bit varying by each item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ultra light jacket I just got the Ghost Whisper jacket and love it. I've been replacing all my backpacking gear with ultra light equipment and this was my latest addition. It is super light, 7.7oz, but is nice and toasty warm. The down jacket moderates the temperature well and kept me nice and warm at my daughter's soccer game the other day. I haven't experienced getting it wet yet, so we'll see how it works in that environment, but at least for backpacking, this will fit nice into my pack to reduce overall weight while still looking great and keeping me warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ultimate layer This jacket is perfect for fall nights by itself and even better for layering because it's so light and flexible. When you have other layers underneath and I'm top, you don't even feel that's it's there but you DO notice the warm that it provides you, which I must say if finonimal. It was 7.7 oz with the hood which is insane, and it's highly compressible. I really love this down jacket 10/10 would buy again

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A sonnet worthy jacket How do I love this jacket? Let me count the ways... This is, by far, the most versatile item in my closet. It packs down to almost nothing (hence I have no excuse to leave it at home) yet provides tremendous warmth for the weight. And weight? It barely registers on a scale. I have worn the jacket for almost two years now and it is remarkably durable in spite of the super light fabric. It fits easily under a shell, blocks wind pretty well, and can shed a light rain or snow fall. I also combine it under my MHW Phantom puffy while hanging around the tent during winter ski camps. In short, this is the best jacket I have ever owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Travel and everyday jacket On a recent trip to London this was the only jacket I ended up wearing for the 9 days we were there. It was lightweight enough and packs into its own pocket that I could take it anywhere. It's a warm jacket so all I really needed was a long sleeve tee underneath and I was warm. It rained quite a bit while there and I never found myself getting wet, which surprised me. It definitely did not say in the description waterproof, but I stayed dry just fine. This jacket is true to size, I have a mens medium and am 5"10" about 165 pounds, and it fits perfect. I have quite a few Mountain Hardwear jackets and after this trip I am happy to say this by far is my favorite and most practical. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a new coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This jacket is always in my pack. (Or I'm wearing it.) I do a lot of long distance and long duration journeys, often on rivers, where from one end to the other conditions will vary and the environment will totally change. When out on the water, I keep the Ghost Whisperer Jacket in a dry bag with a merino t-shirt, a clean set of underwear, a travel towel, a pair of sweatpants and an emergency blanket. It serves as my emergency warm, dry clothing, that, if I or someone else ends up soaked, cold or even hypothermic they can throw on and get them warm fast. Over the fourteen months or so I’ve had the Ghost Whisperer I’ve used it as a pillow, lent it to many people on different journeys and obviously worn it frequently myself. It’s stood up to frequent long term use with no issues at all. It stows away neatly and easily into its own pocket, takes up very little space and adds minimal weight to an expedition pack where every gram matters. This is a top piece of kit and I guess the price reflects that. It’s certainly not the cheapest option but it is super light, incredibly packable and extremely warm. The outer shell is very thin and I certainly wouldn’t hike through dense brush or amongst low branches with this jacket as my outer layer but it survived heavy rain and snow showers with no ill affects. The hydrophobic down coating really does the trick but again for long term use I’d prefer to have a waterproof shell over it. I’ve now bought this jacket twice as my first one was taken when my backpack was stolen. Totally worth it. Five Stars, awesome, really warm and yet so light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome jacket I am 6’1” and around 200 pounds athletic build and it fits great. Extremely warm during a winter hiking trip in Western Massachusetts. Extremely lightweight. Did really well with a light snow storm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket I’m 6’1 165 and a large fits perfect. It’s warmth to weight ratio is spot on and it hasn’t lost any feathers like many other down jackets do. My only complaint? My friends say I look like a burrito with it on(it’s a little shiny when it’s new.) ha!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost Perfect I bought this jacket for the Pacific Crest Trail. It was extremely light and instantly started to warm me by the time I had the zipper all the way up. It packs down incredibly small and seems like you are carrying a blanket of air in your backpack. This jacket is also very delicate. I ended up having to send this jacket back to fix the zipper that frayed apart over 1800 miles. The customer service was fast with the replacement. I love the jacket but I’ll have to treat this new one with more precise care.
