Men's Elkommando™ Kilt is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 96.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kilt Number 2! All you need to know is this is the best thing EVER! Not really sure how I ever did without this. I have both the original and the new style. The only thing that I can say as a “negative” is the old version had a pocket up front under the snap flap. But the cargo pockets do make up for that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kilted for Comfort Thru hiking and day hiking will never be the same. The comfort and freedom of this kilt is noticeable from the moment I put it on. The fit is true to size. I wear 33-34 jeans and the medium kilt is just right. At 5'11", I wear it between jeans height and traditional kilt height and the length drops right to the top of my kneecaps. Brand new, the canvas is a little clingy between the front and the apron. After a couple washings, it softens up and flows smoothly, allowing long strides without hampering movement. The modesty snap is a bonus, keeping the wind from going Marylin Monroe on you. It also helps getting in and out of vehicles as it keeps the pleated back where it should be when climbing in and out of the truck. The belt is a little thin, but only for appearances sake. It does the job of cinching the waste snug, and doesn't interfere with the waistband on a pack. For a hiking kilt this is a good thing as a larger belt would give friction points under a pack. The pockets are roomy and easily accessible. I'm going to add a little knife pouch on the inside of one for a pocket knife so it isn't bouncing around in the cargo pocket. And yes, you can wear underwear with a kilt!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice! very useful, its my first kilt so i cant compare, but the pockets are big, the belt is good, the cuffs with which you open and close work well... my only thing is that i expected it to be prettier. it is comfy, warmer than i expected, and i didnt get to test the spf and dwr but they are very good to have. sizewise, it fits well. got in on sale so i keep it, for that price its worth having 1 kilt in the closet. wouldnt pay the full price unless kilts are really your thing

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great kilt, uncomfortable snaps. The kilt is high quality, but the metal snaps in the waistband area dig into your skin.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light Compared to other utilikilts this thing is so light and breathable. It runs a bit small or true to fit, other reviews I had read say it runs large but that was not my experience, I generally wear a 31-32 and can just squeeze into a small. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it needs true belt loops and it could use some better pockets. The pockets themselves are very functional but utilitarian. I wouldn't mind some more traditional jeans style pockets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bestest Kilt Yet The Mountain Hardwear Elkommando kilt is the best kilt I have! This is now my 'wear it every single day' kilt. The cut is great, the fit is right on, and the fabric is perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This kilt KILT it! The heading says it all. It's stylish with plenty of substance, looks great with a regular t-shirt or a classier jacket/shirt/tie combo, and trust me when I say that it was fawned upon by ladies and gents alike. Suffice it to say that I will be purchasing from Mountain Hardwear more often in the near future. Thank you and keep up the great work!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like a cool breeze I really like this product. Super comfortable under a pack belt and provides ultimate freedom of movement. Recently wore on a hike up hardscrabble and uneven terrain. That's where this garment provides an advantage. I am taking on a trek to Nepal this fall, I hope it is culturally acceptable. It is my 'go to' now. If you are on the fence and worried about what people think, I get a lot of compliments. Go for it, you will not regret a kilt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More comfortable than you'd think. I've wanted a kilt for as long as I can remember. When this went on sale I couldn't wait to get it. It almost any form they can be expensive. This one is incredibly comfortable. It looks great and has lots of pocket space. If you've wanted to try one...do it, you'll be glad you did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Freedom on the Hills! (Or city) Fit: I bought a small on the suggestion of the size guide. It's a bit tight. Not impossible, I decided to keep it for when I'm running a bit leaner but it is tight. Sooo, I also bought a medium which fits much better. If you're on the cusp, as others have said, go up. The belt works. Design: It has that great pack waist design from the pack pant from 20+ years ago. Cargo pockets are generous. They sit well when you're standing but get in the way when you attempt to sit down. Material seems to be a pretty good choice. Overall feel about the garment? Love it! I'll look for more colors come next spring!
