Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect... These soft shell pants are bomber. I got them in State Orange and got compliments the first time I wore them. I've used them for some high altitude mountaineering & hiking. I plan on using them split boarding this winter. They block the wind and light snow was not a problem. Almost perfect: these are heavy weight, they NEED thigh vents like my BD Dawn Patrol soft shells. On the way up, I had the fly open and the pockets unzipped to ventilate and it just wasn't enough. The waist is cut low, especially in the back. with the wind blowing at my back, I got a cold spot in my lower back. They need to be an inch or two higher in the waist. The thighs are slightly tight. My legs are lean & athletic, not body builder thighs. While stretchy, I don't want to be pulling on the pants for a few thousand steps on the way up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good fit, good material Using mostly for bike riding in autumn and winter. Possibly skiing. Have the Dragon coat and Pant. Both fit me well, feel comfortable, like the material and color. Have yet to have bad enough weather to truly test, but Im not worried. MH equip rarely let's me down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dragon pant I'm female but loved the features and soft lining of these pants, but since they only are made in men's sizes, I took a chance on the small/short leg. Roomy in the waist but I just pull the belt snug! Will you make them for women?!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Swiss Alps approved... Just put these through the paces on a few difficult K3-K5 via ferratas in the Swiss Alps. They performed great! Warm enough on the chilly mornings and not too hot for the sunny afternoons and lots of activity--very comfortable. Maybe a bit too heavy for climbing in the summer heat. Good amount of stretch to them and the reinforcements are in all the right places. I'm 5'8'' 170 and the Medium/Short fit great. The waist does feel like it sits a bit lower than other pants I've worn, but feels great under a harness. The built in belt could use an upgrade, but no issues so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pants Wore this for a weekend on Eldorado Peak in the North Cascades. They kept the snow/wet out and held up well to the scrambling. Very comfortable, as it was cooler they worked very well but if it was warm I think I would have sweat quite a bit. Love them though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent pants Unintentionally, the first time I used these pants, I ended up on a 10,000 foot peak, with 35mph winds, and wind chill of around 20 degrees. I slipped, I fell, I stretched, and I got rained on. Despite all this, I stayed warm and comfortable. These pants are marvelously wind resistant--better than any other pants I've ever owned. They are also very water resistant, but after six hours of being drizzled on, some water was starting to seep through the pocket areas. I probably could have gone for two or three more hours before it became an issue. The pants withstood all the slipping and falling without any damage. I'm 6'2'' and ordered large/long. They fit perfectly with ample room in the legs and waist to wear base layers or slide over boots. Overall, these are well constructed, high-endurance pants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality all around Have used these pants on a few outings in the mountains. The material has a good amount of stretch that makes scrambling that much more easier (and comfortable). They are fairly breathable compared to other soft-shell pants I've used and still are insulated enough to handle temps down to the 20's (for what I've put them through so far). The Kevlar padding around the seat, knees, and ankles is a huge plus. Keeps you cool if sitting in snow or glissading. These pants are surprisingly water resistant and havn't shown any wear yet. I do have to comment though that the padding on the knees is cut a little low. Would be nice if it were a little higher up. Additionally, I like the idea of kevlar padding around the ankles, but I tend to use gaiters every time crampons are used - still a nice feature. The sizing fits true. I was initially concerned with ordering the correct length. Measured my inseam and to my surprise it corresponded nicely when I actually got the pants and tried them on. I have high hopes these pants will last many years and will see many miles. Price is a bit steep but you totally get what you pay for. Do yourself a favor and don't skimp on the essentials - you'll be as stoked as I am.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect spring/fall pant I've put 100+ FIELD days on these pants in Western North Carolina - bush whacking through rhododendron for miles, scraping around granite slab, kneeling in muck for hours teaching and a lot of miles. I've put them through quite a bit, and love the pants. -They're a little warm for summer trips, but perfect for spring and fall when the temperatures stay cooler. -The non-kevlar fabric begins to pill around the crotch and butt. -The kevlar stands tough through anything, it still hasn't shown any signs of wear. My only real con is the belt system. It fell apart within my first 2 trips of the season, so 14 days. There is some type of fabric within the belt holes that have fallen apart, and the buckle doesn't stay so I ended up having to tie a back-up knot to make it stay. I've since replaced the belt with my own tubular webbing. If they fixed this system and made the front pockets deeper - I wouldn't have any complaints. Still highly recommend it, because the flaws don't necessarily compromise performance.
