Reviews

Men's BoundarySeeker™ Pant is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Touring Pant I bought these pants to supplement my MH Dragon Softshells (also a phenomenal touring/hiking pant). I wanted something waterproof and with a bib to keep the wind and snow out on the colder and wetter PNW snow days. I toured 4 miles in these pants last weekend when the temps hovered around the high teens and the winds blasted at an average 40mph with higher gusts. The side vents effectively dump heat when the winds died down and while breaking trail. I also stayed plenty warm on the change over and downhill with just these pants and a light capilene base layer with negative wind chill temps. As others have said, the pockets may not be ideal as they are very large and items do sit just above the knee although I have never had any issues with keeping my avy beacon harnessed on my chest and keep my phone in an inner pocket to keep from getting wet. The waist and bib fit well but the pant leg seems a little too roomy (compared to my Dragon softshells) but I guess that's just extra style points. Additionally, the internal gaters are a nice feature for keeping snow out of my boots. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with these pants as a waterproof, windproof, and highly breathable (w/ open vents) touring pant.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lacks durability of similarly priced products I’ve come to expect quality from MH products, and while these pants do a good job of keeping you dry, the material isn’t durable. I only have a handful of ski days in these and there’s already several tears in the pants. For a pair of pants that cost $500, these things should be bomb proof. Nothing some duct tape can’t fix, but c’mon! Haven’t heard from the customer service team after several attempts either...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice pants; need fixes I bought these pants when another pair of MHW pants were returned. I appreciate MHW pants because they sell inseam lengths; I need a short. The hand of this fabric is very nice and reflects the supple nature of NeoShell. I have jackets with NeoShell and they don't "crinkle" like GoreTex membrane. These pants have two issues which MHW needs to remedy. One, the other reviewer was very concise- the suspenders, billed as removable, aren't due to a manufacturing error which his photo clearly reflects - the loop to which the detachable buckle affixes is too small for buckle removal. This isn't a big deal for me since I like suspenders. But MHW went to the trouble to put a zipper in the rear, yet they can't be removed. Second, the pockets are HUGE. I understand the desire for some to put their beacon in pant pockets in lieu of a chest harness. However, there isn't a need for two beacon pockets. The result of the huge size is that anything else, especially if it has mass, like a pocket knife, comes to rest on or above your knee or patella. It is too close in case of a fall and renders the pocket really unusable. I will probably end up making another smaller pocket and sewing it inside the existing pocket near the top. Other pants from MHW and others have "normal" sized pockets with a thigh storage pocket below and this set up works well. Please fix these two issues and then the pants would be worth the MSRP.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The shoulder straps weren't removable I had high hopes for these pants, but the straps weren't made in a way that you can take them off. The back zips off but the front didn't have any velcro, and there was no way to detach them with how tightly stitched the opening buckles were. Maybe mine were a fluke but the suspenders were also so short that the pants had a high water fit. So I sent them back.
