Tough ShortsThe only problem I had with these shorts are that they come in a little tight. I’m 6 ft 205 lbs and I ordered a 38, should have ordered the 40. In any case, bouldering at JTNP I was amazed at the quality and flexibility of these shorts; they sweet!

Brew shortsI work in a brewery that has it's own tap room. These shorts were perfect for time in the brewery because of there toughness and water resistance, and still looked good working in the taproom with customers.

Not my favorite waist bandThese are high quality shorts. I like the material, slightly stretchy. However, I do not like the continuous elastic waist band without a button. If you wear no fly briefs, access to your junk is inconvenient. In addition, the drawstring does not seem to do much in the way of tightening. It seems more ornamental. I prefer the regular AP shorts.

Great Look & FunctionI love these shorts - the material seems durable and has a nice stretch. I wear them to the gym, hiking, swimming & around town.
My only minor annoyance is that the material picks up fibers & my cat's fur like crazy (keep a lint roller on hand).

Form and functionThe Scrambler short is excellent to wear all day in the summer, particularly if you're not sure where the day will take you. From a BBQ to public golf course (probably should wear something with a belt to the country club), to a spontaneous swim in a friend's pool. No more excuse "I forgot my bathing suit" This will get you by and not take forever to dry.

Not going to work at allI ordered these for my husband in his usual size. While the waist fit, the shorts were aggressively tight in the crotch and thighs. There was no way I'd let him out of the house wearing them. Perhaps these are designed for boys rather than men? Seriously, the fit is way off. Yes, the hubs is muscular but he's not the Hulk.

Simple, Functional & ComfortableIf you own a pair of pants from the AP line, then you know exactly what you're getting with these shorts.
The fabric used is the same stretch nylon found in the various AP options; a durable, stretchy, comfortable fabric that holds a clean line and doesn't hold onto stains and dirt.
The fit is accurate - I've always ordered a 32" waist with every pair of MHW pants/shorts I've purchased and have found them to all fit as they should. I'm larger in the thighs than the average guy, but the cut of these shorts isn't overly slim and constricting. Rather, I find the cut to be modern and fitted enough to where I don't feel like I'm wearing a pair of old baggy Levi's.
The elastic waistband, for me, is appreciated. It keeps the waist of the shorts relaxed enough to where they don't bind and abrade when you're hiking or climbing.
Speaking of, I've spent three days on the trail with a pair of these shorts. I found them comfortable and mobile and stain resistant. Coming off of the trail, I didn't look like a dirt bag; they looked great enough to wear to a bar after returning to town.
I've climbed twice in them - I generally prefer climbing in pants, for the sake of coverage, but hot Arizona summers call for shorts and I find these to be a great alternative. Again, high stepping or stemming isn't an issue; the pants are mobile and don't restrict your movements.
I'm very happy with the AP Scrambler short. They're exactly what I was looking for: a good-looking pair of shorts I can wear as a casual item, but functional enough to keep up when active outdoors. I really dig 'em.

Just Not For Me...I did not care for the fit nor feel of this product. This is not a knock against MH. I did just not like it. Shorts were well constructed and fit as claimed.

Versatility, durability, and style all in one! These shorts are amazing. When dirtbagging it out on climbing trips I definitely try to bring as little as possible in the way of clothing and these shorts are the best for this. I basically never take them off. Comfortable and stylish enough to wear all the time, but they are also durable and fitting in a way that lets me climb as though they aren't even there. And that's what we all really want right?
