Hueco™ 35 Backpack is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice day/travel pack Roomy top pouch and main body. Sturdy fabric and straps. I'm 6'2" so the waist belt doesn't sit right on the hips but since it doesn't have an internal frame not overloading it. Worn it for several 12+ mile hikes & scrambles comfortably.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from hueco 35 I got this bag strictly for climbing gear hiking out to the crag. So I really liked the bag at first, it is super durable, I love the handle in the middle of the bag (makes for easy grab and throw or just move it here and there). It will take a beating up against granite and so on. But there is an annoying issue with the top flap/pocket/lid. It seemed like a great pocket at first, it has a small inner pocket to separate a few little things, but the main pocket is big and inviting to put all kinds of stuff in there (i.e. some baby wipes, cliff bars, gps, apples, sun screen, neck gator, guide book, tape, phone, wallet,,,,,,, i can fit all this stuff in there, together!). Sounds great right? But then the pocket gets heavy and sags and causes uneven weight distribution (Could i put less in the top pocket? Probably; but there really isn't any other place for these lil items I personally like to bring with me). I'm undecided if this affects the bag while it's on your back hiking, but it is real annoying when you have the bag open. Especially when the bag is anything less than full. It's hard to explain, but the lid seems to weigh down the opening to the main compartment and you basically are constantly fighting with it while loading stuff or digging through the bag. Which brings me to my second gripe, but it's a personal gripe i didn't realize i'd prefer different till later on. It would be nice if it had some sort of side entry to the main compartment so that you don't have to take everything out to get some little item you put on the bottom for what ever reason. But i guess that's with all top loading bags, but I think in the future i will stay away from 100% top loading bags, personally. I think it's a good bag, but I believe there are other styles that would meet my personal needs better. I'm curious about the Splitter 40, but I didn't originally go with it because i like the idea of a grab handle and the 300 degree zipper looked like it would not do so well if you ran into rain. The Patagonia Crag Daddy is happy medium. The Patagonia Snow Drifter is pretty perfect minus the water bottle pockets, and I'm not sure about its durability for rock climbers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile Go-To In my eight-ish months of ownership, I have used this pack: - to haul my gear for a week of work on a tall ship and never gotten things wet inside - to haul my life around a variety of public transportation in half a dozen large cities and a bunch of smaller ones - to haul forty pounds of cast iron cookware from New Orleans to Connecticut as a checked bag and the transport dirt wiped right off - other, less eclectic hauling It can be difficult to get things out of the bottom without taking everything out, but I'm never afraid of someone opening it without me knowing while I'm in tight spaces or of losing whatever I'm carrying off the top when alone on the trail. The barrel-like shape of the Hueco 35 is very efficient. So efficient that it feels like I can get more in it than another pack I own that is supposedly twenty liters larger. The top pouch is great for stowing things that I'll want sooner rather than later, whether that's my book, my trail mix, or my toothbrush. The key clip is in a zippered pocket in the zippered top pouch. I mostly use it to keep track of hair ties, but I feel good keeping my keys there too. Sometimes I forget that I have other bags because I reach for this one first.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Pack I Own! Okay where to start, I have had this pack for little over a 6 months now and it has replaced my climbing pack, day hike pack and my little overnight pack. The build quality is top of the line and it is just simple and straight forward! It carries nicely even when you put quite a bit of weight in it. I was highly impressed that I can carry my entire climbing rack with the rope strapped on top and still have a little more room to add. It also works great to travel with, I did 10 days in Alaska and everything I needed was in this pack, which means my checked bag was saved for the 40 pounds of Halibut I brought back!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Could use a real hip belt. Great durable backpack. Great for climbing. I am able to fit a rope, small rack, harness, shoes, and helmet in the top. Easy access. The only downside is it has a horrible hip belt. One strap, NO padding. Almost not even worth using. I wish there were some padding in the hip belt and maybe a little more rigid frame.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Needs a proper waist belt I have carried many packs in my 57 years. Many high points for the Hueco 35 with the following exception which I cannot get over. It needs a proper padded waist belt to be the near perfect pack. I favor one toploading sack style bags because they are no fuss and typically more water resistant. Thus, I have come to like climbing style bags like this one. For long approaches and for better all around use a padded waist belt would be a great addition making this a near perfect pack, as I said above. MH, I hope you are reading this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid and durable I knocked my pack over and it rolled down the hill about 50ft. and smacked into a tree. A few scuffs, but no damage. The dirt wipes right off. Your rope can be attached on the top, then secured on the side. It's fully exposed to the elements, It's kind of a pain to get it on if the bag isn't full. Shoulders have good padding, waist is ok.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Canyoneering Pack Great canyoneering pack. It holds 120' of rope, harness, necessary gear, 3 liter water bladder and first aid/bivey kit. I also have used it in wet canyons and can fit a 3mm wetsuit with some stuffing. I added brass grommets for drainage in main pack and side pockets. I love the way you can carry a rope outside/on top of the pack. It has a nice system for securing 120-300'+ of rope. It is great for small slots and cracks. It fits and slides well in tight spaces. The only complaint is it is not comfortable for long approaches or hikes out of the canyon (2+miles constant hiking). The shoulder straps support all the weight and become uncomfortable after 1-2 miles. It does not have a waist harness/support belt. But for short canyons (2-4 miles overall) it is great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from absolute favorite pack I own the hueco 34 pack, and I love it. I bought it to use as a beginner rock climbing and travel pack. I take it to the gym with me, and travel by air with it since it can fit (fully stuffed) under the seat. It is my go-to pack for every short adventure I go on. I own quite a few packs and this one is my absolute favorite pack. It is super durable, not heavy, feels great when I wear it and it has two really large outside pockets on the sides that I can fit 32oz nalgene bottles into. I also really like that the main compartment is very wide, which makes packing a breeze.
