Expedition Duffel™ Medium is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Travel gear I bought the medium and the small for an up coming trip to the Amazon. I was looking for something that was water resistant, durable, and could be carried as a back pack. The small is by far the better size for me. It will fit as carry on but still provides plenty of room for all of the necessities. The medium is also a nice size but to big for a carry on if full. I guess you could only pack it part way full and smash it enough to fit as carry on if you were so inclined. I was pretty disappointed with the carrying straps. I had hoped that they would be completely removable and stuff into there own pocket, (like my haul bag) but that is not the case. I was able to remove one of them but then if you want to re assemble you need a pair of needle knows pliers or something to force the webbing back through the buckle. I have concerns that if left on when checked that they will get consumed in some conveyor belt somewhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from warranty replacement for 10 year old product I loved my old Mountain Hardware duffel for 10 years but the fabric began to flake. So this is a replacement. Great to deal with a company that stands behind its products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rugged I have owned 2 of the large duffels for several years and use them every weekend. They have held up very well so I purchased the medium and it is of equal high quality. I purchased the gold color so it is easily identifiable in the airport, plus it is good looking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expedition Duffel Awesome duffel bag. So far I've been using it on a boat and definitely standing up to the elements. For a medium, its a bit large but I can always use the extra space for gear. I'll order the small for other travels. The only complaint I have is there's no hard liner in bottom. So if you don't have larger gear, the bag wants to bend in half. I used 2 pieces of cardboard and that's just fine. I would order this again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stellar protection This bag is definitely the highest quality duffel I've ever held. It has lots of room for bagging up clothes or gear. I am convinced it's the best duffel and plan on purchasing the small bag as well for other apllications.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Duffel Have had this bag for about a month and so far, have just used it for airport travel and some car camping, but my first impressions are that it is one tough bag. Will see how it holds up over time and update my review if my opinion changes, doubt that will be the case though. Pros 1. Burly TPU material. My testing hasn't been rigorous but I'm confident this duffel will last for years and years to come, it just feels like it will stand up to anything I will throw at it. 2. Burly zippers. Big, strong, yank them hard on a full pack with no worries about the zipper breaking. Critical component for a quality duffel bag. 3. Versatile. The backpack option works reasonable well, and the straps adjust easily to switch from a single hand carry to over the shoulder. 4. Well organized but simple. Two interior mesh pockets help keep smaller items separated in the pack, external pocket has enough space for anything you'll need to access quickly while traveling, and the internal compression strap helps keep everything tight when the bag is fully loaded making it easy to zip shut. Cons. 1. The handles could be a smidge bigger and have a bit more padding for the backpack and shoulder strap function. It's not terrible, but an area that could be improved upon. 2. Small complaint, but while there is a slip for an ID card, mine didn't come with an actual card to write on. I just cut a note card to the right size, but I'd prefer a card that was waterproof as the rest of the pack is. Also a velcro tab at the opening of the ID slot would ensure that it couldn't possibly fall out of the slot. I got the medium size. It's perfect as an airport check in size, you'd need to be lugging some heavy equipment in it to go over 50 lbs. I believe a small would make a great carry on. If you fully packed a large I assume it'd end up being oversized. I haven't tested a lot of other duffels out, but I assume there are probably more comfortable ones out there and it's not super pleasant carrying this bag at 45 pounds for over an hour. I give it 5 stars because I am confident that this bag is going to put up with hard abuse for a darn long time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Solution I had a tough gift to buy for my son-in-law who is 6'5" and 300+ lbs. He needed a bag that would hold his 'big stuff' while he rode his bike to work, yet wasn't a big, ugly bulky pack. This bag was the perfect solution. The right size to carry his gear and easy access to get at what he needs. He loves the bright orange color and said this bag is the perfect solution. Fits on his back nice or he can strap to the bike. Either way it works great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Perfect Expedition Duffel We use this duffel to haul gear up, down and around Mount Kilimanjaro, through mud, snow, rain and dust. It holds up well and clean up nice. Bombproof, durable - it lasts forever. We at Ultimate Kilimanjaro are really happy with these bags and highly recommend them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy Bag Well constructed and has the feel of quality work. I was expecting it to be a bit more rigid than it is but it is still sturdy. Too much weight and the bag folds just like any other duffel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sturdy and Versatile I recently bought this bag for an upcoming trip to Central America. So far I've loved it! Ive used it to just throw things into and go as well as spending time to organize it, which the inner pockets allow you to do. The straps are comfortable but it could use a waist belt. The aluminum side handles on each end came in handy when I ran out of room in my car and tossed this bag on the roof for a recent long distance move. It held up to highway speeds with nothing bug a few bug splats on it that wiped off easily thanks to the waterproof material! Overall great bag
