Women's Wandra™ Jacket 4 5 1 1
If you can deal with the long sleeves, great jacket! Living and hiking in the Pacific Northwest, where it's usually pretty chilly when it rains, I was searching for more that just a rain shell. I wanted something that's easy to slide a layer or two underneath without looking like the michilen man (but still fits well alone) and had more than just plastic or mesh lining the pockets. This was harder to find than I thought, however, as most jackets fitting that description are geared towards skiing or climbing and have huge "helmet-compatible" hoods. The Wandra fits the bill, though! The good: -Solid construction -Soft fabric lining in the pockets -Silky liner means layers don't stick to one another -Stiff brim on hood keeps the rain off your face -Highly adjustable hood that stays in place and is roomy enough to wear my long hair up -Worn it in two downpours so far with no leakage -Fits over curvy hips The okay: -It has "pit zips" but they're actually located down the sides at chest level. On the one hand, this makes them more comfortable than having zippers under your arm. On the other, I'm not sure how effective they'll be at releasing heat as it isn't really the sides of chest that sweat. I haven't really tested this feature yet, though. The bad: -The sleeves are ridiculously long. I never have an issue with sleeves on clothing being too short or long, but these are like monkey arms. With the angled cut at the ends, they come down to my fingernails. Overall, I'm happy enough with the jacket (after trying on about a dozen other shells from a variety of brands) to deal with the long sleeves. I plan to get them hemmed. Otherwise, I highly recommend the jacket. I'm 5'5", ~125 lb, 34 bust, 38 hip and got a size Small. PS- More color options and a two-way zipper would be awesome! November 30, 2014
