Women's Seraction™ Insulated Pant 4.3 5 4 4
Light but warm! I am cold-natured and need a really warm pant, but don't like bulk. These pants are great. Super lightweight while still extremely warm and I like the way the waist comes up higher in the back so you don't get that cold air sneaking in. My only complaint is that that they are so snug around the calf that I can barely squeeze them over my alpine ski boots, which have a battery pack attached for heaters. I think without the battery they would fit better, but still annoying snug in this area. I am 5'4", 135lbs and the small was a good fit for me. Tried a medium and it was way too big. More color options would be wonderful. February 20, 2015
Excellent hardshell for winter hiking I bought this for winter hiking in the Northeast. My first outing in 20 degree weather and these pants worked great. Warm, comfortable and definitely waterproof after breaking trail and doing some sliding in steep sections. A couple recommendations for the designers - (1) it would be nice to have longer or larger leg vents, as these are warm pants and overheating is still a concern and (2) the butt area is a bit clammy if you are not wearing a base layer underneath - a brushed fabric would be appreciated, and a little more stretch. Regardless, this pant is now my go-to option for winter! December 16, 2014
Great for Ice Just got my initial run in these pants on backcountry ice in Wyoming. Fit is great. I'm 5'4" and 122 lbs and fit a small short great. These pants are very warm and don't inhibit movement. They have very heavy kick guards so I haven't torn them with crampons (yet) even while trucking through knee deep snow. I love the front leg pockets, great for storing a small bar or my approach gloves. The inner portion had a rivet so I could improvise a gator which saved me this weekend. Only thing I would change is add a drawstring to the waist. February 18, 2014
wish it came un-insulated These pants are made extremely well, and are extremely comfortable. However, I was really disappointed that the women's serration does not come in a non-insulated version like the mens do. I was looking for something exactly like the mens (extremely high equality dry elite q) and very comfortable, light weight, packable, etc. I was looking for backpacking purposes, but also something that I could hike through the rain in. I dont like the feel of the simple shell (like the mountain hard wear women's plasmic). But since this pant doesn't come in a un-insulated version I had to go with the shell. Other than that, if you're looking to use these pants for their true function (alpine mountaineering) then they are perfect. but for someone who wants to use them other places like the mens version, they fall short.
