Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this Jacket I have an athletic build and this Jacket fits wonderfully. Keeps me warm on snow filled days out in the woods. Packs down easily to fit into a pack. My new goto winter jacket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Classic PUFFY I have mixed feelings about this jacket. I want to love it because it is warm and light and would be an excellent jacket for backpacking trips (my intended purpose). However, it's SO puffy that I feel like a walking talking marshmallow. Make that a burnt marshmallow, as I ordered the black. And the hood is massive... leaving a ton of space between the jacket and my head. I tend to run cold, so jackets without a functional hood are pretty much rendered useless to me. Overall I've decided to return it because at this price point I'm looking for the perfect combination of mountain function and in-town fashion, and this jacket sadly didn't deliver. * Still recommending product because I know some people aren't bothered by the extreme puffiness and I think the quality would be sufficient for most.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality down piece but not quite what I wanted. This is a quality, well made down jacket. I was looking for something that would be very versatile, for outdoor activity and cold-weather casual use. I sent it back because I would like more length to keep the tush warm and also found the sleeves too bulky looking. Definitely meets standards in the warmth department for what it covers and felt it would move with me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm from the get-go! Am very happy with my new blue Women's Phantom™ Hooded Down Jacket purchased Nov. 2015. Love this jacket!! I can move easily, thumb holes keep my arms warm and zipping all the way up (over my mouth) with my hood on keeps the cold wind out! I purchased a Mountain Hardwear jacket years ago and finally wore it out. My new jacket fits the bill for MN winters. Was looking for a jacket where I'm warm as soon as I put it on, heck I'm walking my dog every day at 4AM & 4PM and need to be warm from the get-go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a "Weather Eraser" coat I bought this coat for ice climbing in winter months only and thought "Okay, I'm investing all this money into a coat, I'm only going to wear it when I need it." 2 weeks went by and I never put it on because I was nervous about hurting the seemingly tissue paper exterior. Then it got really cold outside and I put it on without thinking. Oh my goodness, this coat negated all cold temperatures without over heating. You can throw in on top of 5 layers skiing or a tank top leaving the gym and it will maintain a freakishly perfect temperature. Looks like I bought this coat October 2014. I have taken it off on a few hot Maryland days only a handful of times. I've had it a little over a year and there are no rips to speak of (and I am not easy on my gear). It has survived so many climbing trips, random snags on nails, and everything in between. Buying this coat was one of the best things I have ever done.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Couldn't quite hack it at extreme temps I had ordered this jacket to be my "in between" coat, for temperatures between +20F and -20F, before the parka gets pulled out. I live in central Alaska, so there is very little to worry about in terms of wind or precipitation in the winter, just varying degrees of cold. I received this coat at the end of November. There are a lot of things I like about it. It fit GREAT. I have quite broad shoulders, and was delighted to be able to move/ski/play in the snow in this coat without any binding around the shoulders or chest. Loved the color, the hood worked well, sleeves were long enough, fabric seemed sturdy, all good things. But the insulation just did not cut it. My core was warm, I could tell extra effort had been made to insulate around the chest area, which was cozy. But even at 0 degrees Fahrenheit, the cold soaked right into the shoulders and arms, so much so that my shoulders started to get stiff during a ski. So, alas, I will be sending this lovely puffy back. If adaptations were made to the shoulders and arms so there was not a heat loss in those areas, I would keep it in a heartbeat. I could see this coat working for someone who lives in a warmer climate, but tends to be on the chilly side. The extra insulation in the body of the jacket would be super snuggly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite cold-weather jacket. This is the best cold-weather down jacket: *850-fill water-resistant down *box baffles *cuffs seal out cold air *hooded The huge interior pockets are good for storing a bottle of hot water, too, thereby keeping you extra toasty at camp when you are not as active. The only complaint I have is that the "Bright Rose" color shows up on my computer screen looking like a Santa Red; in reality, however, it is an obtrusive and unsightly hot pink. I wish the Blue version had still been available in XS. Oh well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Totally hit the mark! This jacket is fantastic. I purchased it after returning a very similar weight/ performance design jacket from a competitor. Though they weigh the same, this coat is much, much warmer, the fit is great (I'm 5'11", 160, 36D, 31" waist and have room for layers underneath), and I love the thumb-hole feature. Exactly what I want in a very warm, lightweight, and compressible jacket. Thanks! Minor detail, but it would be really nice to have a cinch in the back of the hood for times when it's not being used with a helmet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great and fluffy! I ordered this jacket specifically for a winter backpacking trip with temps down in the 20s. I was warm the whole time and often was too hot to do anything but just hang out when wearing the coat. Fits slightly large so I have extra room but it is compact and comfortable.
