Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 27 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfy as your favorite sweater I got the ghost whisperer to take on a backpacking trip to the Sierras this summer but it's been a fantastic all around jacket so far this winter. It has plenty of movement for any activity, keeps me warm on its own down into 30-40 degree weather, and is extremely comfy thanks to how light it is. Fits pretty true to size. January 13, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Zipper poor quality Pros: Great fit, warm and light weight. Cons: The worst zipper quality ever designed. The zipper ripped the fabric of the jacket. Don't waste your money on this one. Very disappointing Mountain Hardware. January 3, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sweet jacket. My wife's Christmas present. She loves it. Very warm. Very lightweight. She looks very attractive in it as well. Score MH! December 20, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Weird Fit/Tight Armholes I really wanted to like this jacket. I am 5'1 and 110lbs. This jacket is supposed to have an active fit, but it is strangely tight at the armholes, where active people have muscle, and very loose around the torso, where active people are slim. I tried on an xs first, but couldn't move my arms, and then exchanged it for a small, which I swam in. It looks like Mountain Hardware has had the same complaint for several years, so they should absolutely act on this. My Arcteryx Atom Lt fits perfectly in an xs, and I am looking for a warmer jacket for the dead of winter. I guess I need to go look at another Arcteryx. December 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by It's wrong to love something as much as I love this jacket I don't know what's up with the other reviewers, but this jacket fits me great. I'm 5'3, 125, and usually wear a S. I ordered a S and it's perfect. I wouldn't wear anything super bulky underneath it, but I wouldn't need to, because this is sooooooo warm, yet soooooo light. It's unseasonably warm for December and I'm kinda bummed because I look like an idiot wearing down when it's so nice out, but it's a, frankly, awesome looking jacket -- went with the mountain dew yellow -- and I love, love, love it. Rated 3 out of 5 by arm holes are way too tight I purchased this product knowing that I might not be happy with the fit, because multiple other reviewers said the arm holes are too tight. I completely agree. I wear a size small, but I ordered up and got a medium so I can layer several things under this as a midlayer. The armholes are sized more like an extra small on this size medium jacket. Because I got a medium when I'm a size small, it's at the very lower limits of acceptable for fit at the pits and armholes, and I certainly can't layer a ton of things under it. I like that it's ultracompressible, so I'm keeping it, but this was a very poor choice for cutting the pattern on this jacket, Mt Hardware!! December 14, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by For a $350 Jacket, Not Recommended I value my hard earned money and bought this jacket on sale, so I didn't pay $350 and I'm so glad I didn't. While the jacket is light as air and provides me with a cozy core, I would prefer the quality to be higher. Two major issues I have with this jacket: the zipper and the snagging. Ugh. As I now see in another review, the zipper is sometimes tough to get up. Uh, yeah. It's also difficult to unclasp to separate the zipper ends. I think Mountain Hardware went very cheap on the zipper. Now the snagging. So, we already established the zippers are of the utmost poorest quality. The pocket zippers also snag on the arms and it started the minute I put on the jacket and on both arms! I already see one thread loose because of it. Now walk around with closed zipper pockets just to be sure the snagging doesn't get worse. This is seriously a pain. Needless to say, I'm careful with my money. If you have unlimited wealth to throw at this jacket - by all means go do it. But surely for $350, you can buy the Micro Ratio hooded jacket and save yourself a nice chunk of cash. I'd love to return mine and get the Micro Ratio but I already cut the tag. One positive aspect is that the fit is great. I am 5', 115 lbs. and bought an XS. December 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic! This is a fantastic coat. I wore it for our annual turkey trot on Thanksgiving morning and it rained the entire two miles. I was dry and toasty warm the entire way. It's like wearing waterproof air. You can't wear this coat alone when it gets less than 20 degrees, but it's fine to that point and I have a fleece that I will wear under when it gets that cold. Rated 5 out of 5 by Innovative and Versitile 3 Season Staple Pros: The Ghost Whisperer Jacket presents an impressive blend of weightlessness, breathability and durability. Its maintenance of loft when wet and low profile prepares it for an incredible variety of weather conditions. Butter fabric along the inner cuff resists pilling, is as soft as its name, and effectively seals in warmth. Many people fear the Ghost Whisperer fabric is flimsy and prone to tearing. I have yet to experience this and doubt I will. You can tell it was constructed with integrity, precision and attention to detail. Sewing work is clean throughout and notions are functional and sensibly colored. Clever design decisions such as loop for carabiner make this jacket highly user friendly. Cons: While the majority of the garment fits true to size, I find the arm holes of the jacket to be much too snug. It's a shame because everything else about this jacket lends itself to seamless layering and this feature is rather encumbering. I really appreciate the storage pouch-makes packing quite convenient. However, in the pocket that transforms into the pouch, there is an exposed serged seam allowance which is distracting when putting bare hands into pockets for warmth, especially since this seam allowance is absent from the other pocket. This is a minor issue and doesn't effect performance, but unfortunately apparent. Overall a stellar product and highly recommended! If you are looking for a jacket you can throw over a t-shirt, tie around your waist and also pack for a friged alpine trip- look no further. October 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent fit, excellent function This jacket is amazing! It fits perfectly, is incredibly warm and light, and held up well even when it got soaked in an unexpected snow/rain storm. This jacket is now a permanent part of my backpacking gear. My only complaint is the zipper--it sometimes gets jammed and seems too small and puny for the jacket. September 13, 2015
