Stay dry in the worst weather This is a completely waterproof shell that allows for a variety of base layers according to weather. All of my pants have lost their water resistance so I wanted the waterproof feature. I just climbed with them in single digit temps because of the wind chill, and sustained winds of 30mph with moderate snow. I hiked for 4 hours in this weather and stayed bone dry underneath them. My favorite part of these is that they are very form fitting, flattering, and not too baggy. I want function in my climbing pants, as well and comfort and flexibility. I like the bib feature and venting options as well. The craftsmanship is as good as one would expect. I imagine this will be the last pair of climbing pants I will need to purchase for a long time. Downside, there are not insulated, so I wear another thick base layer, but this also allows for use in more various conditions/temps. March 4, 2014
Totally worth it! I was a little skeptical to drop a pretty penny for these pants but have zero regrets. The zippers are exactly where they should be, providing easy relief in the backcountry for women as well as super easy ventilation when you get too warm moving around. I was very warm in them, and able to sit in the snow without anything soaking though. I wasn't sure if I should get a medium or large (I'm 5'11'' 145 lbs), but am very happy with my choice of large. Definitely enough space for some fleece pants for colder days, but they weren't too baggy with my regular spandex/long underwear the times I've worn them. LOVING THESE BIBS!! April 1, 2013
Dry, light, comfortable, and convenient These pants are everything I've ever wanted in ski pants. I got these pants to go ski touring and ski mountaineering. I really wanted bib pants, as I absolutely hate the feeling of snow going down my back when I fall skiing, but didn't want to have to strip everything off to use the ladie's room. The rainbow zipper in these pants is the answer--it's possible to do so without even taking off your skis. Woo! The 6 slider zippers also allow you make whatever size vents you want anywhere on your legs; this is definitely a bonus when ski touring in California. As far as I can tell they are also completely waterproof--yes, even in the stretch panels. I did an entire day of resort skiing in a sierra cement snowstorm (read--very wet), complete with sitting on sopping wet chairlifts, and remained bone dry. By the end of the day the boyfriend decided that he really wanted a pair too. I usually wear a size medium (W size 8), but I opted for a large in these pants because I wanted to be able to put a couple layers underneath without them restricting my movement. This was a good call for my larger-than-average quads/backside. The larges are slightly baggy in the legs when wearing just long underwear underneath, but fit perfectly with an additional set of fleece pants. I probably could have gotten away with a medium, but the large ones are super comfy and roomy. The only potential downside I could see is that the fabric feels very thin. I tend to be pretty rough on outerwear, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see how these hold up. So far they are doing just fine though! March 4, 2013
