With many of our tents, you can create a functional shelter by using just the fly, the tent poles, and a Footprint (our accessory grommeted sheet that normally serves as protection for your tent’s floor). The resulting structure keeps off the rain, provides a fabric floor, and has tremendous ventilation at a fraction of the weight of the complete tent. The Pitch Light option is especially useful for fast-and-light, mild-weather trips. Some tents may require additional pole bindings at intersections and/or webbing support for struts and brow poles. These items are included in the appropriate Footprint package.
A complete Pitch Light package for fast-and-light, mild weather trips
A Must add-on I am a strong believer in footprints but this one is very well made and will add years to the tent floor. Preventing moisture in a tent in snow is important and this footprint is a must. Top class all the way. Love the tent too. August 28, 2013
Could be better I'm a long time purchaser of MH products, and have always been pleased with there products design and functionality. Recently I purchased a Trango 3.1 and wanted the footprint to protect the investment. The subject footprint's materials are typical MH, durable and reasonable weight for the purpose. Disappointingly, the fit, however is very loose and if repositioning the tent, make sure to recheck attachment point grommets are still in place. When I'm on a mountaineering trip, I'll probably leave the footprint at home, so I won't need to wring my hands in grief as my footprint sails away across the ridge or glacier. :-(Also, $80+ for floor protection...hmm. When did footprints become so expensive? I must have been climbing. March 4, 2012
