SuperMegaUL™ 2 Footprint PL 2.3 5 4 4
Worked for us The footprint is made of Tyvek as the other posters have said. It feels flimsy at first, but is pretty darn tough. I was not sleeping on rocks however, so I can't vouch for the sharp object test. What sold me is that it has a lifetime warranty, so if it does get a hole you can just send it back. May 25, 2014
Poor fit, poor performance We used this foot print a couple of times and it was very disappointing. The material is some paper-like substance that is lightweight, but far from functional. Day 1: tore a hole in the footprint from a small rock, in very mild terrain. Also, the fit is way off. the f-print is too big for our SuperMega UL. Why? I don't know. I do want to know how MH is going to resolve this problem. The tent is great, footprint: NOT SO MUCH April 28, 2013
SuperMegaUL™ 2 Footprint PL Review This footprint is made of Tyvek, which is a material often used for wrapping houses during construction. Backpackers have used the material to make their own inexpensive footprints for a long time now. The material is tough despite its papery feel and this footprint is precut to size with grommets sown in at the stake out points. However, the biggest appeal of using Tyvek as a footprint has been the low cost and this footprint is 55 dollars. The footprint will certainly prolong the life of an ultralight tent made of relatively wispy material, but the grommets hardly justify the price tag considering a similar footprint can be made at home for around 5 dollars. Ultimately, the product is fine, but the value is relatively low. February 11, 2013
SuperMegaUL2 FootPrint Does Not Hold Up The Footprint for the SuperMegaUL2 tent is made of some sort of waterproof paper that did not hold up in the rugged, rocky terrain of Southern Utah. While I made every attempt to select the smoothest camping surfaces possible, after the third night of use, the footprint was showing considerable wear and a very small rock (which are impossible to avoid in the terrain I was in) punctured a hole through the footprint and nearly punctured the bottom of my tent. The footprint is flimsy and it's clear it's not going to last. Very disappointed. October 28, 2012
