Great product with small issues First of all I am not mountain climber, not yet at least although I intend to be. I bought it for fast and light mountain backpacking. 30L is more than enough - this bag is incredibly roomy! it's very convenient to carry regardless the overall weight of the content and... it's extremely lightweight! I can however confirm what the other guy said in the previous review - straps get loos regardles special design of buckles - not much of a fuss if you're just scrambling but when climbing this can be a huge issue. The quality controll should be better. I bought one and returned it after five minutes in a shop - there was a rip in a sewing. I took another piece and it was fine... but after one use I noticed again a rip in a sewing - very tiny one and not getting bigger but still... Lastly - MWH logo is cool but is not sealed - the pack has some waterproofing (little but still) but waters comes easily through the MWH logo - I will need to seal it. Can't say much about durability - I used it just a few times but reinforeced dyneema looks very tough - a pity the whole pack is not made of it but then again the weight would not be so tempting. Overall seems to be rather tough. July 20, 2014
Meh Disappointing in the basics, and that is really all this pack has to offer. Main complaint is the super light and thing straps slide loose so the shoulder straps constantly slip. The "frame sheet" is almost useless and buckled on the first packing. The color portions of the pack are super thine and not very durable. Tool attachments are impossible to use with gloves. I would have returned it but I cut off the useless hip belt. As I expected the pack is super light and the white dyneema fabric is very durable. September 30, 2013
LIght and Tough I am replacing an old summit pack that was ruined from too much 4th class abuse. I wanted something light and flexible enough to strap on or stuff inside my big pack, but still sturdy. This pack is nothing if not light, flexible, and tough. It seems the right size for a big summit day and is streamlined to avoid snagging while climbing our on short hauls. The only down side is that it doesn't carry as well as a more structured pack, so it will probably not be the pack I'd pick for a day climb or hike. That said it could work for day outings with lightweight gear and a good packing job. August 28, 2012
Great Day Pack This day pack is ultra light and offers good amount of space to add everything from the picnic blanket to food. I used it to hike Shenandoah just recently and it was very comfortable for a 6 hour hike. May 24, 2012
