Scrambler™ 30 OutDry® Backpack is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bomber Pack This pack is fantastic. I use it for the daily commute to school, the short day at the crag, as well as multi pitches and ice. The gear loops are great for stashing extra gear, and it sits high enough on the back that it is comfortable to wear with full gear and a harness.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from my favorite ski and goofing off backpack Awesome jacket and has become my every day backpack here in the Pacnorwest since it rains so much. highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and Comfortable This is a great little pack with a simple, easy design. I was looking for something that would shed snow and keep stuff dry when ski touring. I initially was concerned about where to store the avy gear but found the side pockets are great for the probe and shovel handle and the attachment loops on the back hold the shovel blade nicely. The water bladder sleave turned out to be a great place to keep damp stuff away from the main compartment. If you are a practical minimalist this is your pack.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Multipurpose Absolutely love it. I use it for everything from my socks, food, and tent when i go hiking, to my snowboard gear when hitting the slopes. Definitely the best backpack I've ever owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works for me I wanted a pack that would keep stuff dry even if I forgot a liner etc. This pack has done the job for me! I like the side pockets as they hold various sizes of cups etc. securely without 'binering them in or putting straps thru them. I have put a tripod (barely) and ski poles in them as well, and an umbrella (which I do clip in as well). The zipper seems to be the weak point of the top pocket in the shower, but it has a flap cover which has worked for me so far in real life. I might test it in the shower some more. The top closure takes some time to get used to, and many times I wish they had made a roll down top, like a dry bag. I think that was an option after I bought mine, but it doesn't look like it is anymore. I put a small hole in it almost immediately, having opened a small can of almonds and put the metal top back in the pack (dumb), but I think many other packs would have been ok. The other minor annoyance is the main compartment expands into the water bottle space when the bottom is full, making it hard to insert a water bottle, etc.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Limited waterproofing I bought this for working on trails in the wet Pacific Northwest. The description that it is waterproof is not correct. As many others have pointed out, the top pocket is not waterproof, nor is the strap side. Because I often have to put the pack down somewhere when I work, there is no good way to place it so that water doesn't seep in. After the last rain storm, I'm going to now use a cover, which pretty much defeats the purpose of getting a waterproof pack in the first place. It would be nice to have mesh side pockets and an inner zippered pocket that is totally waterproof. While I can get my water bottles in the pockets, I have to loosen the compression straps on the side every time, which is a little annoying. For the positives, the pack is the right size for what I need and is durable. The contents stay mostly dry in a light rain if I'm hiking with it. It is surprisingly comfortable to wear and (small detail), I like the easy-to-loosen drawstring and the metal closure. I recommend this pack for light hiking but don't expect it to keep your gear totally dry in a deluge.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not really waterproof I use this pack for daily bike commuting in Portland. Initially I liked the fit and way pockets were organized. After some hard months of hard use I can attest Its no longer anywhere near waterproof. I need to carry computer/electronics as well as paper work during my ride and had a mad panic one day when all my stuff ended up damp. Thankfully the computer survived but this pack is relegated to a gym bag. Side note: Why OutDry??? Who the #&!; whats a "breathable" pack?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it Love this backpack! I installed it under my paddle board deck rigging and all my stuff was still dry. Pros: Spacious enough for a day hike, very versatile, a lot of pockets, great design, splashproof. Cons: It is not fully waterproof (you cant submerge the bag).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great day pack I broke this in hiking half dome. I carried a large camera 5 L of water jacket and lunch. Perfect support and even weight distribution. The pockets on the side are a bit weird for nalgene bottle but it does fit. Used it biking as well and does not rock. Exactly what I was looking for and perfect size (35 too big)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everyone needs one Perfect bag for overnight or a weekend trip. I purchased the 35 and wished I'd known about the 40. I've put it through the wringer over and over and while the top may not be truly waterproof it's taken a beating and lots of rain and water in the PNW and has yet to leave me hanging. Love this bag.
