Optic™ 6 is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Summer Camper I bought this tent so my family can camp in the Summer primarily. We had our first go this week and the tent worked flawlessly. It was large enough for two large air mattresses plus all of our bags. We had to be door flaps open the whole time and enjoyed the stars. It does get a little colder at night though. The zippers on the doors are smooth and precise with every opening/closing. The main door on the rain fly cannot be rolled up or down without opening the main door and stepping inside, but I'm only 5'9! Not sure why the footprint is not included, that would have been a nice touch.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A SAIL IN THE WIND OK so I have been on a few trips in this tent now Bryce Canyon Utah, Zion National Park Utah, Canyon De Chelly Arizona... If your gonna camp in ANY WIND AT ALL leave this thing at home.... I spent hours trying to secure this tent so It wouldn't get damaged or just blow away... The stakes that come with it pull right out of the ground... You will need to find trees or big rocks to keep this thing from blowing away... This tent needs one or two more poles to help stabilize it as well as some way better tent stakes to help hold it to the ground... I am not stoked on this tent at all and I am a HUGE MOUNTAIN HARDWEAR lover I own their Trango 4 Expedition Tent and the Shifter 4 but this tent is not worthy of their name in my opinion !!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for families! We have three daughters and all five of us can comfortably sleep in here with room to spare! The tent is huge! One adult can easily set up this tent while the other entertains the children. I am 5'10" and can stand straight up in the tent with plenty of room above my head. Great for changing clothes! The bottle opener on the tent fly is a fun added touch. The tent kept us dry during a heavy and windy rain storm. The vestibule has plenty of room for shoes and other items that need to stay dry but need to be out of the tent. The footprint is a nice add on. I am still using a Mountain Hardwear Glacier tent from 20 years ago. This Optic 6 is built with the same quality and I expect it to last just as long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This tent is great quality Took it out camping in Alaska it was real easy to set up. I also bought the foot print to go under very nice. It rained all night never had a drop inside the tent, take down and set up was a breeze and is very roomy. I had a lot of people ask about it camping very nice looking tent also. Very pleased and I highly recommend this tent. The bag it comes in is big enough for the tent also did not have to fight with it to put it away.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good tent I am a weekend camper and was looking for a tent for the whole family (of 4). I used the Optic by myself in order to condcut a test run. Set up was easy for one person. I was a little disappointed that the guy lines were not as simple to use as they should be. The interior was very roomy. I am 6'6 and could stand in th center w no touching. Their was plenty of storage space, however, having both entrances at the front of the tent would seem to be a problem if there was 4 plus people in the tent? I have owned several other tents in the past and like the glow in the dark zipper cords. The Optic does not have them. Don't get me wrong, overall this is a really nice tent and I am glad to have it. Look forward to the next outing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome tent! We were really impressed with this tent, quick and easy set up! (although 2 people required). Quick clips snap onto the poles, very easy! Love that the storage bag actually has room and you're not fighting to get it back in it's storage bag after you unravel it from factory! Plenty or room for 6 people and their gear, very spacious. Love the double door, let in the fresh air!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Enormously great tent After carefully researching all tents in this size category I decided to go for the Optic 6 based on the reviews I read and the ease of set up. Boy was that a smart choice. This is a very large, well constructed beauty. Setting it up was a breeze. There were two of us so it only took 5 minutes, but with a bit of effort this could be done alone. The front doors have what you can tell are durable very easy to use zippers. The fly fit over easily and runs all the way to the ground. It even withstood a pretty decent rain storm without having the guy lines pulled out. At night the tent reflects light so with my headlamp it was easy to find. Oh and the bottle opener on the fly door was the icing on the cake. BUY THIS TENT

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Satisfied I was excited to get out of the 4 man tent we currently own and into something a bit larger. Our 4 person family needs more room for all us to be in one tent. the Optic 6 has fulfilled that requirement. Spacious, airy, with plenty of room for all 4 of us and our gear. I set it up in my backyard with the intent to test it with the on coming severe weather. It performed very well. Tent held up under 40+ MPH winds and stayed dry (as you would expect). The two large openings are awesome and allow a lot of ventilation. Very happy with this tent. I plan to update this review after a few car camping Cub Scout trips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One huge tent Bought this tent for car camping and it works great. On its first camping adventure it survived two nights of heavy rain with no leaks. It is a little bigger than I would like to have for two people but they don't have an Optic 4. Fits a full size air mattress with plenty of room on every side of the tent so you're not up against the walls and leaves plenty of room for bags and then some. I would recommend purchasing the footprint for the tent since it does not come with one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Tent As expected, a great, quality product from Mountain Hardwear. Large tent for 6+ people. Easy to set up and take down. Probably too heavy for backpacking, but if the tent is split up between people, it could be done. There is no footprint with the tent, it must be purchased separately.
