Men's Ghost Whisperer™ Down Hooded Jacket 4.4 5 50 50
Incredibly warm and versatile jacket This is an incredible piece. I've worn it for close to 20 days of skiing, both alpine and cross country, and it's absolutely perfect. It's hard to express how light this jacket is, and it is still extremely warm. The one complaint that I have is that the zipper on the bottom can be a bit tricky. I think that making that zipper a bit less finicky would have made this jacket absolutely perfect. With that said, though, it's already one of the most incredible things I have in my closet! Great multi climate jacket The jacket is everything I expected from MH. Extremely lightweight and versatile, performs well in a wide range of temperatures and climates. Very well constructed and durable considering the light weight. For sizing, the jacket fits snug in areas. It appears to have been designed for a thin frame. If you have an athletic build, you may want to go up a size. At 5'6, 145lbs and athletic, I typically wear mens small, however had to go up to a medium in this jacket. The small was too tight around the shoulders and back for unrestricted movement. The downside of this is sleeves that are a bit too long. December 24, 2014
Ultralight and warm Ultralight and warm. I love this jacket. The fit is slightly large but 5 star rating from me. December 17, 2014
Warm and light as a feather I use this jacket almost every day - everything from walking to class to alpine climbing. It's amazingly light. It doesn't feel like I'm actually wearing a coat; feels more like a surprisingly warm t-shirt. It holds off rain better than expected too. It's no rain coat, however, and I wouldn't trust it for long periods of time, but for short bursts of rain it holds up very well and dries quickly. My only concern is the durability of the outer material. It hasn't ripped yet, but it's so thin that I worry about it ripping from abrasion. Still, it hasn't failed yet. It's pricey, but if functionality is more important than price for you, it's a great buy. December 14, 2014
Ultra lightweight jacket Great, jacket! Lived up to weight and packability claims Made when I researched the product. Have yet to fully test it with a high quality shell that can keep the wind from getting through, but certainly looking forward to it. Definitely reccomend to someone who needs light ultra packable down jacket. December 10, 2014
Great Jacket, Great Fit, a Must Have The Ghost Whisperer is my first down jacket, with plans of it being added to my winter collection, primarily as a mid layer. However, I have been wearing this jacket lately as my outer shell. It has done an exceptional job of defending rain and cutting the wind in 30 F weather. Although I don't recommend this for obvious reasons, I thought it was worth noting. As for sizing, the hood fits amazingly, not too weird or bulky. I am 6' 4" and about 200 lbs, and I was able to very comfortably fit into a Large. December 10, 2014
Does what it claims to do. This jacket wasn't designed for mega cold temps. That's what the heavier thicker jackets are for. This jacket does exactly what it's supposed to do. Provides amazing warmth at an extremely minimal weight and is one of the best layers money can buy. Alone, I was disappointed with the wind resistance however I understand that with a fabric so minimal, you can't please everyone. Otherwise it's been amazing. No leaks, snags, or other issues. Perfect fit and the hood is wonderful even without a cinch cord. Buy it if you like layering. Go heavier if you need something for 20 degree weather or colder. (Unless you're doing a high aerobic activity.) December 8, 2014
True'ish fit Love the Jacket! Rediculously light weight but still very warm for how thin it is. So far it sheds water from light rain and repelled a chilly 12-15 mph wind. The only problem I've found so far is with the cuffs. I wish there was some form of elastic in them to help keep the chill out and warmth in. As for the fit, first I'm 5'10" and 160lb with a 42" chest and a 32" waist (tailor measured) I bought the Medium and the fit across the chest is great with T-shirt and it just fits with a sweater underneath. The mid-section of the jacket has quite a bit of room, more like for a barrel shaped physique then a V shape. Sleeve length is perfect as I have a 34 1/2" sleeve. December 8, 2014
Fantastic Jacket! Use it all the time!! Ghost Wisperer Down Hooded Jacket is the BEST ultra light jacket I have ever used!! I have several (MH) Mountain Hardware products and all of them are top of the line fantastic, phenomenal. This jacket is no exception. It was a gift from my daughter and I couldn't believe how light weight and warm it was. It is now my favorite jacket and I use it almost every day. Buy this jacket !! It is perfect for hiking and everyday use. Bundles up into a very small space and is so light weight you almost can't even feel it on. It fits perfectly and keeps me warm. Way to go MH !! It is FANTASTIC !! The only thing you need to do is create a store in the Washington DC area !! December 6, 2014
Not worth the hype. Like everyone else I am impressed with the weight, but what it lacks in weight it lacks in warmth. My Ghost Whisperer feels like it's half full of down...some cells are puffy and some you can literally feel only a few plumes...very dissappointing. The fabric is awesome, but feels extremely delicate and I'm kind of worried to take it out hiking/working without a shell. The shark is also about 5X's more shiny than it looks, imagine a black trash bag...which isn't a fault just not what I expected. The fabric has held up well while in the rain/snow, but agian it just doesn't provide the warmth I expected. I bought a large, and it fits perfectly. If you want something similar, and possibly better, look up the Nirtous Hooded Jacket. I would have bought it but I was leaving the country and they didn't have my size. I'm currently traveling through Europe, in the winter, and unfortunately I'm freezing! December 5, 2014
