Great, warm bag! I took this bag out on a 3 day backpacking trip in the White Mountains of NH in October and loved it. I'm a cold sleeper, so I opted for the 15 degree bag just to be on the safe side. The first night the weather got down to around 36 F and I was toasty warm. I ended up just sleeping in a light baselayer and was plenty warm. My feet even stayed warm without socks! My biggest hesitation with this bag, though, was the 3/4 zip. When I get hot in my bag I like to unzip and stick a leg out. I was worried this wouldn't be possible with the 3/4 zip. The second night was warmer, in the 40s, and I got to test out the use in warmer weather. I got too hot, but was easily able to unzip and stick my leg out to cool off (ie the 3/4 zip was not an issue). As far as fit, the bag was roomy for me which I liked a lot. I'm a 5'8, 160lb woman and I've had women's sleeping bags (usually long) that fit nicely lengthwise and around the hips but were tight enough in the shoulders that they made me claustrophobic. I think the roomier shoulder's of the men's bag fixed that issue and I didn't give up much room in the hips. My only issue with the bag was that the zipper tended to snag a bit. I still gave the bag 5 stars, though, since in my experience all bags with draft tubes tend to snag and this one wasn't as bad as my last bag. October 8, 2014
Passed the lightweight snow camping test Used this bag on a six day ski tour in AK. Night temps down averaged about 20. I had a very light pad (klymit X frame with small square foam pad under my feet) and slept in the MH b'layman jacket, MH compressor pants, and my boot liners and stayed plenty warm. I was in an EV2 and a Direkt2 tent with considerable wind. I was on the chilly side when the temp got down to about 10F one night, but not cold. I liked the construction and the 3/4 zip. My friend said he would never buy a sleeping bag that didn't have a full zipper, but I loved the 3/4 zip. Why fight a full length zipper and the associated heat losses? The draft collar was also money. My friends had zero degree bags and didn't seem to be any warmer, plus their bags were twice the size of mine when packed. This is my favorite mummy bag that I have ever owned. It is not as restricting as others that I have owned. I could even tuck one of my legs up so my foot was under my knee. Plenty of room. I'm 5'9" and about 165. This bag was super easy and fast to dry by either hanging or leaving in a warmer tent with ventilation. April 9, 2013
