Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it Was tested in the John Muir Wilderness and held up great in pouring rain hail and light snow

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket The material of this jacket is durable, light, and has stood up to monsoon rains thus far. I really like the longer length, water slides right off. The taped seams are solid. The only thing I could wish for are some pit zips, but then the weight would increase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of a kind I've been looking for a lightweight all-round shell for a long time. After several disappointing purchases with other brands (Arc'teryx beta lt hybrid, Patagonia m10 anorak), MHW delivers! Performs well in heavy rain and alpine conditions. Ability to pack into its own pocket and clip to harness is key when climbing, and it layers comfortably under puffies. Also, I greatly appreciate the extra 2 inches around the shoulders compared to other MHW shells in the lineup, which feel quite restricting with certain arm movements.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best 6 ounces to have in your pack at all times. This jacket blew me out of the water and kept the water off me at all times! I purchased this for my thru-hike of the JMT this summer and got to use it on a training trip to the Yosemite high country for an 8 day outing that included rain, hail, snow and blistering winds. I always had this jacket within reach to protect me from whatever element was going off at the moment. In conjunction with a Ghost Whisperer Down Jacket you can do anything. I found myself popping this jacket on during short breaks to keep the wind off me and when it got super cold at night I would use it as a final layer to keep all the warmth in. I highly recommend this jacket to anyone looking to trim weight yet not sacrifice keeping dry.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My Thoughts I bought and returned every other brand before I got my hands on the Supercharger. No joke I at one time had 4 Ultra Light rain jackets here at my house. I am 6'2" 200# and bought a Large. A Large Ghost Whisper layers perfect under or over it. The center back length is long enough to cover all layers you have on and the top of your waist. The sleeves are long enuff to not ride up when you have your arms in the air. It is really thin and see through but does not feel like you would rip it going to check the mail. it has a slight rubbery feel to the inside. ok now for what I wish they would change: give a dual hem adjustment instead of single Make the hood smaller its huge but the adjustment is better than most with only one adjustment. If I were just going to wear only a tee shirt under it I might chance a medium I usually go large for sleeve length and center back length.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shell, could use a couple small improvements I'm really happy MH has gotten into the ultralight weight product game. This shell is a great piece at an incredible weight. I really like the clean design, without too many pockets, pit-zips, etc. That said, I really wish they'd get rid of the line of stitching across the brim of the hood (on all their shells). When the stitching gets wet it makes the visor less rigid, and also lets water seep through. They should just laminate it. Same thing on the cuffs. The elastic is great, but the stitching/thread there just absorbs water and leaves you with soggy cuffs next to your skin. If they implemented the same stitchless, clean design in these places, like they have on the rest of the jacket, this thing would be perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great ultralight weather protection I used this jacket for a thru-hike of the John Muir trail. I ended up wearing it at some point on probably 80% of the days on the trail. It's amazingly light and kept me dry during rain and snow out there. I also threw it on a lot to block wind when it got windy. Keep in mind, this is an ultralight minimalist jacket. There are no pit zips and the material is very thin and probably not extremely durable. It's a poor choice for an everyday urban rain jacket, but an amazing choice as a shell for backpacking, climbing, hiking when rain and wind is not certain but you want to be prepared. I am planning on using this jacket as an outer hardshell layer on Denali for inclement weather on the lower mountain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Where is the women's version? This is an amazing jacket! I would love to pack it as a "just in case" rain shell for day hikes or short backpacking trips. It would be magical for traveling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ripped, but Warranty Handled it! Would have been a five star product but the jacket ripped for unknown reasons on a wet-weather trip. It's truly breathable and waterproof but was not expecting a rip from average use scrambling in winter in the Cascades. Held up to rain, sleet, and a crazy hail storm and kept me dry. Warranty dept reimbursed me and kept the jacket for research to improve the product... Makes me wonder if I should rebuy this right now like I am or if I should wait for an even more awesome one next season! Keep up the good work!!!
