Men's StretchDown™ Hooded Jacket is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from SO CLOSE, BUT FALLS SHORT I really want to love this jacket. Finally a down hoody that moves with you, stretches, and isn't shiny, crinkly material. This jacket is aesthetically appealing, but immediately starts spilling significant number of feathers from the armpits. Unfortunately I think the stretchiness of the jacket which makes it so awesome is also its downfall. The inherent give of the fabric allows the fabric to stretch at the seams and too many feathers to escape. The channels around the armpits on my jacket are both void of any feathers as they've all flown away in just one winter season. The channels which are "welded" are solid, but unfortunately the traditional seams at the sleeves and hood are not holding up. As with most down jackets, this jacket does not cut down any wind and is best suited for in camp activities. The 750 down is noticeably colder than 800+, or may just be the actual volume of down used in this jacket. When I wore this jacket I was always sweaty in the middle of back (not comfy) and felt chilly in other spots. If I hold on to this jacket, I do not intend to take it in to the backcountry again as it does not perform to standard as a down jacket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needs a drawstring Excellent warm jacket, but the lack of a drawstring of the hood is the main problem. Great fit with a little room for layering underneath.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unsurpassed comfort, warm and light! The main thing that separates this jacket from all others is the dynamic stretch of the fabric, making this the most comfortable puffy jacket I've ever worn (down or synthetic)! It fits more closely than traditional shiny nylon face fabrics, which cuts way down on chilling drafts, but never feels restrictive or tight. Seriously, this material stretches a lot! It's not as water repellent as MH's other shell fabrics (like my Ghost Whisperer Down Jkt – love it too), but it has still handled the sloppy, soggy winter in upstate NY this year pretty well, and is very breathable while still cutting the wind. I've worn this around town, on active winter hikes, and while XC skiing with my kid, and I find it comfortable in temps ranging from 45º down to 5º F while wearing only light layers underneath (synthetic tee, ultralight microfleece top). If layered properly with long undies and a midweight fleece, I expect most people would be comfortable down to -10º while remaining active (not just standing around). While this would typically be way too warm for XC skiing (except in truly frigid temps), going at a slow pace with my 5 y/o kid worked fine. Kept this in my pack on personal ski runs and couldn't wait to don it during lunch breaks and at the end of the day. I'm 6'1" and 175 lbs (jacket size 40L) and on the slim side. The fit in the men's Medium for me is excellent, with sleeves long enough to cover the wrist, but not too long. Hood fits very well; it might be improved by adding a drawstring, but it does a good of staying in place without it. I got the Phoenix Blue color, which looks fantastic against a snowy landscape (IMO). Bottom line: If the weather's cold I simply can't wait to put on this ridiculously comfy puffer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I would highly recommend this jacket. It is warm, lightweight, and can take on the rain. Couldn't be happier.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not stand up to the cold I wore this jacket for 3 days in Chicago. The temp was an averaging between 30-40 degrees and I was freezing. I had a sweater underneath the jacket and it still did almost nothing. I really loved the look of the jacket and the pockets etc (definitely a beautiful jacket) but it keeps you warm like a cotton hoody, not a down jacket. I think the welded seams are counterproductive because they create quarter inch gaps where you have no insulation. The inner material is thin like a plastic bag and provides no insulation on its own, so as soon as you open a pocket all the heat can immediately escape. If you want a down jacket that looks fantastic but does not function as a jacket, go for it. I bought this jacket because I read all the positive reviews. I have to tell you, do not believe the hype.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Terrible hood and loose sleeves The hood on this is so loose it will blow off in the lightest of wind and no way to tighten. Also due to the hood's loose fit its not very warm, akin to cheap consumer jacket hoods and not technical apparel. The sleeves also have gaps at the opening using a thicker light weight glove like OR Flurry. Its sad as the jacket, especially the length is nice. But a useless hood for windy / cold areas. Only useful as a city jacket to be honest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Down Jacket I am really happy with this down jacket. It is surprising warm especially given the light weight. Seems durable but only time will tell. A good looking jacket too. I wear a size large in most jackets but some run slim and I go with XL for those. This jacket was too snug in size L so I exchanged it for the XL and it fits great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great coat with fragile material The coat fits great and is warm and light, but the material is so fragile that the slightest snag will rip a hole in it. I've had mine for a few weeks and in that span have had two close calls of ripping the material on a snag, and one legitimate tear. Now that it is ripped I am going down the difficult road of trying to repair it without completely ruining my shiny new jacket..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Puffy Solid design, the welded seams trap a lot of air which makes stuffing into a pack take an extra second. But totally awesome overall. No seams to snag on branches is nice. Warm but not super thick which makes for nice layering and versatility. Stretch knit seems quite durable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stretch Down, Literally This jacket is very light and warm. I wear it from -15C to -5C, but I'm sure it would stand -25C with an additional layer. The fabric is quite incredible, it does literally stretch and follow your arms when you move, unlike regular Nylon on down jackets. The Medium fits slightly large on me (6 foot, 165 pounds), the arms and shoulders are perfect, but the overall length and belly size is a bit too big. So it is not an athletic fit, but more of a casual fit. It does resist to light rain and blocks wind effectively. I do recommend this product and will certainly buy other StretchDown products in the future.
