Reviews

Men's Stretch Ozonic™ Jacket is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 36.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Light Jacket Love the jacket - looks great, light and waterproof but feels breathable especially with arm pit vents. Front chest pocket is essential. Only room for improvement is the zipper - as it requires two hands. I suppose this is the case with most thin jackets though it would be nice to be able to zip and unzip with one hand (it bunched up or catches of using one hand). Hood also needs to be tightened to avoid being pushed back off head but it does have the tightening pulls. This replaced a bulky ski jacket and I paired it with a lite zip hood later for colder days. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Can't have it all You often hear with outdoor equipment that you can pick 2 of 3: weight, durability, price. It's the same with rain jackets, except: water resistance, weight, breathability. While this jacket is not as waterproof as a 5 pound waxed rain jacket, it is very light and very breathable. No, it does not come with 100 bells and whistles and a 12 point adjustable hood, and that is fine because it's the basic functionality that makes this a lightweight and easily packable jacket. This jacket is hands down the most breathable rain jacket I've ever worn or owned. You can absolutely wear this jacket longer than a run-of-the-mill rain jacket without feeling like your upper body is in a steam room. What you sacrifice for that breathability is a certain level of water resistance. If you are using this jacket for active pursuits and/or don't typically spend hours at a time in the rain, this jacket is perfect. If you're planning on hanging out in rain storms for hours on end, well, this jacket isn't designed for that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ok not great I got this jacket as a warranty replacement for another much nicer jacket that was delaminating on the inside. Bummed that that the store credit they gave me didn't cover the full cost of an equivalent replacement so I had to pay some out of pocket. Regarding fit, I'm 6'2" and 190lbs and returned the large for a medium because I don't like baggy fit. Where is the velcro strap or other method to keep the hood tucked away when not in use? Serious design flaw. I haven't had it in a serious rain event yet so not sure how to judge but based on other reviews I'm suspect. Not impressed with Mountain Hardware here and for my next jacket purchase will go with another brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not suitable for heavy downpours Great design, stretchy soft fabric. Used it a couple of times: in a light drizzle was doing OK (as any item with DWR would). Totally different story in a downpour. After about 30 min started to leak at the shoulders, and after 45 min I was drenched. Looked at inside of the jacket and notices numerous large (dime sized) dark blobs where the water went through. Total failure in my book for this amount of money. My son in a Marmot Precip fared much better (although Precip is not as breathable)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hood I really like most everything about this coat. The only reason i sent it back was because of the hood was to big. For this price of a coat I would think that they would have a 3 point adjustable hood. If i wasn't wearing a cap with a bill. The hood would keep falling over my face. Also I order the coat online an the color name was thunderhead grey. So i was surprised when it came more green then grey. So I would say it should be more like thunderhead green. Everything else about this coat I really like and would recommend it once they fix the hood problem. Which i would think it wouldn't take much since some of there lesser price coats have this feature.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not what I bargained for.. On the search for a new shell When looking for a Rain Shell, this jacket seemed to check all the boxes.. Great price, fully taped seams, a nice stretch material that moves with you, not against, and above all, waterproof. To be honest, it only has some of those features, but not all.. My jacket is less than 2 years old, and I have worn it in only a handful of storms, and here is why. The first were pretty light rain, so it wasn't really put to the test, But in the last storm, when I took it off, I could see everywhere the water made its way through the material and soaked my down jacket under it. Both of my cuffs and forearms were soaked, my neck right under the hood, and the small of my back. Note, I wasn't wearing a pack for any of the storm. What I once thought would work well for storms, now will have to be a last resort type jacket and I am on the search for something new. If you are relying on something to keep you dry, this jacket is not what you are looking for. You will get soaked in a light rain for 2 hours,. for casual hikes around the neighbor hood or to the coffee shop, it might have you covered, but I wouldn't take the long way....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Spring Jacket I use this jacket for spring ski mountaineering outings. Super lightweight but solid. Fits true to size. I'm 6'-0" 180 and have the large. I was worried at first that it might be fragile because it's so light weight and the material feels like it could easily puncture but that hasn't been the case.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from baffle that under light rain it is wet inside i was baffle that it was advertised as waterproof which mist rain works but light rain or prolong exposure will surely see wetness inside. not waterproof. also hood needs ability to pull back to take up the slack. Lastly the waist draw cord toggle not sufficient to hold down when cinched. Otherwise very well build jacket. excellent color

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Waterproof This jacket is great for trips across the parking lot, or walking a couple blocks from the parking garage to the stadium, or any other sort of incidental rainfall. But if you are going to be spending more than a few minutes in the rain, prepare to get wet. The hood, shoulders, and cuffs were all soaked through within 30 minutes of moderate rain. The jacket is breathable and stretches a bit so it's nice for a hike and is overall very comfortable. But its primary purpose is to stop rain and it doesn't do that. Not worth the price. Very disappointed. One small benefit of this jacket is that after you've taken it off you can look inside and have a good laugh at the taped seams because all the water just went around them.
