Men's Straight Chuter™ Jacket is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shell Jacket Bliss I live and work in BC and across North America in all conditions.Snow and rain are my day to day and this jacket is great so far. I've only had it a month so longevity I won't speak too. It seems durable and very practical and comfortable. All pockets and tags have a relevant purpose and the hood adjustability has been very handy at keeping out the wind and rain when in exposed areas. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not 100% sure on this one Bought this jacket a while ago but only just started wearing it. Quality in material is excellent. A little heavier then I thought as it is thicker material but comfortable to wear. A lot of thought went into the pocket design and well laid out. The downfall comes in the sizing. I am a XL and own many Mountain Hardware jackets so I assumed this would fit the same. It does not. Across the chest is good but the arm length is off. When you open the arm vents, the material pushes open and the arms become ackwardly open as the material pushes out. It is uncomfortable and looks funny. When the jacket is zipped up, there is a lot of room in the neck for wind, a lot. I prefer a tight seal for the wind but this doesn't even come close so stormy conditions on the trail your going to get wet and cold. The hood is not manageable. Sized for a helmet is correct so unless you wearing one all the time, the hood is useless. I tried it as I was in the rain and it was way oversized. I held it with my hand because it kept covering my face. If your thinking of buying this jacket, please try it on first. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from new Mountain Hardware sizes I have a Mtn Hardwear softshell jacket small from 3-4 years ago. fits perfectly. I tried on both the small (too snug) and the medium (too long in the waist and sleeves). I am the same size. sorry they changed the dimensions. tried other Mtn Hardware jackets and all are the same different measurements. had to send back and will not try any more jackets. ski pants great however

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost perfect softshell This is an exceptional shell. It is really well made, with great attention to every detail, from seams to pockets. The lining is light fleece where you need some extra warmth, and breathable otherwise. The softshell material is flexible yet feels strong. I can fit into a small or medium from most makers. I got a medium in the Straight Chuter and it is a looser fit, but good for an outer layer. My only "complaint" is regarding the hood. It is over-sized to fit a helmet, but since this is specifically marketed as a hiking garment, why make a hood fit for skiers? You can adjust it though, so I can live with it. A great softshell, overall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect softshell for b-country skiiing Came across this jacket on Mountain Hardwear as I was looking for a soft shell. Specs looked good and the 50% off looked even better. I was somewhat hesitant given some comments I had seen with respect to sizing, but I usually wear M (6', 160lbs) and that's what I ordered. From the sizing guide, I knew it was going to have a bit of room around the chest, but that's what I wanted that so I can layer up. I really love this jacket - it has plenty of great features and the thin fleece lining makes it super comfortable. Its been great for skiing - but downhill, and earning my turns. A great quality product - I brushed a number of trees yesterday (it was a powder day after all) and it left a few marks (bought the yellow jacket). But I was surprised at how easy it was to get off with a bit of water and soap. And the fabric is really resilient - my brushes were fairly 'energetic' ...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from better that that P company I've got 40 days of skiing in the Monashees in this coat. It's as good a coat as you can buy anywhere. Sheds water and snow perfectly. Windproof. Takes snaggly branches head on at speed without a tear or even a scratch. Quite surprised a few times I didn't tear it . I'm 6'3" and 190 lbs and am size medium

Rated 2 out of 5 by from soft shell sizing What happened to your softshell sizing, I have several XL's and they all ran small. I ordered this one and it is way bigger. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!
