Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for very cold weather inbounds riding I bought this jacket for skiing in interior AK where it's below zero riding most of the season. It has not disappointed! I've skied in this jacket for about 10 days in interior AK from -20F to 15F and 5 days in VT/NH ranging from stormy 15F to mild 30F. It is super comfortable resort riding from mid 20's down to as cold as your toes can stand. The insulation definitely saves an extra layer in the super cold. Approaching 30F, or just about any day in the backcountry, I'd rather be in an uninsulated jacket to better manage heat. Features are solid. Hood fits well over helmets with solid adjustments. High collar stays in place and provides good protection. Pockets are nice and pit zips are handy. No problems with zippers. Color and finish are great. I'm 6'0" and 175 lbs. Size large fits well with a few layers up to a full down puffy when it gets well below zero. Bottom line, if you ski or ride at cold, lift-served locations, or are looking for a rock-solid storm-day jacket, this will fit your needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket for the Snow I purchased this jacket because my other snow gear was getting old and losing its waterproofing. I am thoroughly impressed by the warmth of this jacket. I did some snowboarding in Tahoe during a flurry of snow wearing nothing but the jacket and a UA cold gear thermal, and remained nice and toasty all day, even going up the lifts. The waterproofing was amazing, never got wet at all, and it even comes with the added safety benefits of the Recco system. I was able to move around the way I wanted to, the hood can be adjustable, but stayed over my helmet for most of the day except when I would wipe out. I highly recommend this jacket, it's very high quality material and the fit is perfect for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great fit Fantastic fit - enough room to move around & layer underneath but not baggy. Lots of well designed pockets and great ventilation. Wish the hood was removable, and a 2 way main zipper would have been perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket I've only worn the jacket a few times, but love it so far. I'm 6'0", 185 lbs and got the Large. It's roomy, but the medium was tight in the shoulders and the arms a touch short. Plenty of room for layering underneath although it's warm and with temps in the 20s there hasn't been a need to so far this year. It's probably too warm for me for uphill travel (even with the pit zips), but it's great for riding the lifts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very functional jacket This jacket is exactly what I was looking for. It is windproof and waterproof. I had it with me out on a lake fishing this past week with temps in the 30s and wind chill in the teens. The jacket kept me warm and dry. The XL fit is a little big in the waist and midsection area. I'm 6' 3" and weigh 220, a pants size waist of 34, with an athletic build. My brother has the L and it is too small in the arm length and shoulders but the midsection is perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love it Got this to replace my Powzilla jacket from a few years ago that was stolen and is no longer made. Now that I have my south chute, I realize it is virtually the same jacket (and that is a good thing). The main features I wanted were internal and external pockets, pit zips, waterproof, insulated, separate collar and hood. I like to be able to zip the collar up to cover my lower face on storm days without having to wear my hood. I use the internal goggle pocket for a platypus collapsible water bottle for in-bounds days. This jacket checked all of the boxes. As far as insulation is concerned, I am in Tahoe where it doesn't get very cold and the insulation is perfect. Most days I can get away with a thin long sleeve only as a base layer. On storm days, I will throw on a thicker 2nd layer and that does the job. Fit wise, I am 5'10" and 190 and the medium fits me perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket Great jacket, in terms of quality, fit and price. While I would have preferred a slightly higher quality zipper, I have no other concerns. Streamlined fit, not too bulky, but still warm when active.
