Men's Principio™ Hybrid Jacket 4 5 5 5
Exactly as Advertised This jacket performed exactly as advertised; both water and wind RESISTANT. For my general AO, the North Cascades, this jacket is ideal for hard summit pushes in moderate to cold weather. However, when the weather sets in and there is a lot of wet snow on the ground or falling it may be time to switch to a heavier-duty shell. Other than that, the jacket was perfect. Extra fabric on the cuffs protects against snow and wind and I have had no issues with the zippers. Carrying a pack with this jacket was comfortable and the extra durability along the shoulders, hood, and sleeves was incredible. At 5'10", 165lbs ,and with very long arms I own a large, which is comfortable and gives me room to layer; however I could just as easily wear a medium. Bottom line: Perfect when moving in moderate to cold (20 degrees) weather with moderate amounts of snow and wind. Anything more extreme requires a more extreme jacket. January 31, 2014
Best yet This coat is exactly what I needed. At 6'3" and 185 lbs, the fit (L) is just right. Sleeve length is an issue normally, but this fits me perfectly. Wind / rain protection is excellent. I've been wearing this on hikes to the local climbing crag with temps between 20-50F and it's always comfy. Highly recommend this product. Been a North Face guy for some time, but that's all changing. December 10, 2013
unusually warm I got this just as winter came, and even though it is a lightweight layer, the jacket is unusually warm thanks to its great wind protection. the full hood certainly helps. I'm right in between a large and medium size, so I went with the large in order to layer underneath it. it's warm enough that i don't need the layers and as a result the jacket is on the baggy side. I would get the medium next time for a snug/form fitting fit. I really love this jacket. Despite the fact that it only has elastic wrist bands not 'fully adjustable,' I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a versatile, light weight layer. November 12, 2013
Ok Everyday Jacket The material quality is on par with most MHW products, excellent, but fit needs work. I am 6ft/185lbs and I ordered a L and XL. The Large is too short/tight and the XL is too big all around. I think all jackets now should have pit zips, this does not and also adjustable cuffs are a must, this again, does not. Under "Features" in the jacket description online it states: adjustable cuffs. There is nothing adjustable about them, simple elastic with a soft inner layer. I kept the XL for an everyday jacket and it will be fine with layers underneath. I would not call this a technical jacket and am still looking for a weather resistant soft-shell with hood, pit zips and adjustable cuffs... October 7, 2013
Great fit I'm 6'1" 165 lbs and the large fits great. Sometimes hard to get the right length in sleeves without being too baggy and this jacket fits perfectly. Would give 5 stars but even though advertised as having adjustable cuffs, the cuffs do not have Velcro adjustment straps. It does have a stretch cuff on the inside but these are still not tight enough. Would like more adjustability to be able to completely tighten around the wrist and keep the cold out. I guess that's just a skinny person problem. Overall solid product. October 2, 2013
