Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Great pants! Despite other reviews they are water proof. mind you in 35-50 mil's of rain all day anything will give up (!) and if you going to run up a mountain in the rain, not the pants you're looking for. They are great pants! Love them! I beat the heck of of them and they hold up to the abuse.. thx again mh. Ta (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Breathable. Got these for going over fleece pants for winter snowshoeing and for my daily 30 minute walk/commute to and from work. I've used these for about a year in every type of temperature and weather and every time there is a significant amount of condensation on the interior of the pants. These were highly recommended by my only local outdoor gear supplier at the time for outdoor walking and they are pretty useless for any outdoor activity other than sitting around doing nothing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mt Adams I wore these pants as an outer shell during my recent summit up Mt Adams and they worked great. They provided a lightweight and breathable shell to keep me dry during the rain and snow. The were a great wind stopper when we were at the summit too. Worked great and held up well in the glissade chutes coming down the mountain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product kept me dry Yesterday, I experienced light to heavy rain whilst going by bus to my weekly outpatient medical treatment appointment. There are no bus stop shelters with the route I take to the hospital. The plasmic pants kept me nice and dry and warm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Waterproof, Tight Runs small. I am 29-30 waist and ordered the small which fits my waist perfectly but it's very tight in the seat and legs. Reg length might be a 1/2 in too short as I'd prefer it to be a tad long in the rain but thats maybe just my preference.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, light rain pants for covering up when idle I'm completely happy with these pants within the context of what one can reasonably expect from a product such as this. While hiking or backpacking, I wear rain pants only when lounging about camp or when stopping for lunch, etc. They'll keep the rain off your legs, they'll (mostly) keep mosquitoes from getting to your skin, and they can take the nip out of a light breeze. That's exactly what I want from a pair of light rain pants; I'm completely satisfied with their performance so far. I give an overall rating of four stars instead of five because they are a little pricey at MSRP and because I've had them less than a year, so I'm so far unable to comment on durability.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Breathable? I recently purchased the Men's Plasmic pants in medium -- perfect fit for my 5'9" 155 lbs frame. The material is nice -- not too light, not too heavy and it has a nice 'hand' to it. Zips are sturdy and the fly button is even metal vs. cheap plastic - a nice touch. So far so good...until you get out and actually use them. I've done 4 hikes in the pants, in light/misting rain to no rain at all and in each case the inside of the pants are just covered in moisture. To be clear, it is not like I was trail running, but I'd say moderate intensity hiking. I do not expect outer layers to be perfectly breathable, but this was a big disappointment. For $100, I'd expect much greater functionality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from this product was a disappointment I bought it to use in high intensity activity for its qualities of being waterproof and breathable. Well, it was water proof maybe, but I could not tell because I was soaking wet by presperation, when I used it in one occasion snow shoeing and, on another, skinning. Maybe it is good for walking in the rain !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dry Bicycle Commuting I love these pants for their intended purpose. I keep them in my pack or bicycle rack for rainy commutes. The Dry Q Evap technology doesn't let water through, which is what I consider the intended purpose. I'm 6' 175 lbs and the medium fits well. In jeans, wear a 32W x 32L. The pants can fit over boots at the bottom, but also aren't so baggy as to get caught on my bicycle. I can also unzip the lower leg to get the pants on over shoes if needed. The fit and waterproofing on these pants makes them far superior to the ones my employer provides, but I'm not allowed to wear black at work. I would prefer a fully elastic waistband, but the non-elastic front does keep the pants from cutting in at the front and makes the fit more like normal pants. Just don't buy the pants too big, as there's no way to tighten them down. The pants have no pockets or belt loops, which doesn't bother me because I only wear them for short periods when needed, often over other pants. Pockets might be a curse, as well, because it's just another area that might leak. The current design has no leaks. The Dry Q Evap gets a little muggy when sitting around the house or in sunny temperate weather. I think that's a tradeoff with any waterproof garment. I only break these out when I expect rain, and they're great for that purpose.
