Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piero 5 pocket pants I have owned 4 pairs of the previous designed Piero pants and they are by far the best pants I've ever owned. However, Mountain Hardwear has decided to change the design slightly by narrowing the pant leg openings. Now they are a straight leg fit and DO NOT appropriately fit over hiking boots now. The previous design has a slightly wider pant leg opening allowing the consumer to wear an array of hiking boots. That is a deal breaker for me. Maybe other consumers wont mind the straight leg fit, it now seems to be fashionable, but for my outdoor wear I prefer function of whats trendy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not much stretch Perhaps I'm spoiled, but compared to the modern stretch fabrics I'm familiar with (eg. the Chockstone line), these felt like they had no stretch at all. I returned them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Work or Play FYI: I am a woman!!! since MWH doesn't make pants that actually fit 'normal' women well, I have found that their men's line does. I'm 5'-8', 130 lbs and have legs born from hiking, biking and competitive skiing. From a unisex perspective these pants are perfect. I wear these in the field and at the office...from mud to meeting, all it takes is a change of shoes. The are comfortable and the cut makes them very professional whether paired with a dress shirt or a fleece. Great pants MHW!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beyond expectations Purchased on sale and I wear these now as my first choice whenever casual long pants are required. The comfort of the material is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable, comfortable, Worth it A bit more rugged than the passenger pant but still comfortable to wear. I feel like it could withstand a bit of abuse. Fit is great

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good All-Purpose Pants These are great pants if you want something that works well for the field and office. They have what I'd call a straight fit. They're not skinny jeans, but they are definitely slimmer than your normal hiking pants. Even so, I ordered them in my normal waist and inseam and they fit well. The stretch fabric helps keep the range of motion high, and they don't feel restrictive, even without a gusset. I haven't had them long enough to compare their durability to the standard cotton canvas work pants I normally wear in the field, but they've so far shown no significant signs of wear after wearing them in brush and while bouldering. They feel as sturdy as cotton canvas, and they won't take all day to dry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Piero 5 doesn't fit the same as original Piero The original Piero is/was my favorite pair of pants to date. I hike off trail for work in the spiniest desert in North America. The original Piero pants fit me extremely well (I'm 6'2" 215), they protected my legs for the most part, and I appreciated the extra leg room. I ordered the new Piero's in the exact same size and they fit like skinny jeans. The waist wouldn't even fit anymore. I could literally see the different leg muscles in my quad. I had to send them back, and I am hoping that a size up will be sufficient to repeat the fit of the original Piero.
