Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light summer bag! I really like this bag. At first I thought it was going to be fragile and rip, but it's way more durable than it first felt! I'd recommend it for the warmer months, and throw in a nice liner for the colder months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super bag I have used this for a season in the PNW, about 15 nights. It is really warm, light and compressible. Durability so far has been great. I have no problems with the fabric, the zipper works well (if you are not a caveman) and it has sufficient room when zipped. My biggest problem is it is too warm, even in the low 30s. I usually have to use it as a blanket and kick a leg out, then one leg is freezing and the other is sweating... I think fully zipped in you might actually combust. It is a good problem to have.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Halo Green? I say NO WOW how I love this bag but it has the worst color ever. I have been waiting patiently for over three years for this bag to receive an updated color to anything besides baby throw-up green. Yes I know it is Mountain Hardwear's "Thing" to make all products in weird colors that no one likes but that people will buy anyways because of the technology. This bag is light weight, packs small, keeps me warm, and is generally incredible if you like sleeping in the Hulk's arm skin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a HUGE upgrade After realizing that my 10+ year old down and synthetic sleeping bags were too heavy and too bulky I decided an upgrade was needed, enter the MHW Phanton 32. I've always been skeptical about using down sleeping bags, especially when I'm out backpacking for more then a few days at a time, but this bag is AMAZING. The first time I used it was up in the tetons during a downpour. Admittedly I was wary of my bag getting wet, but any water or condensation from the tent walls quickly beaded up and never soaked through. Even when temps got into the low 20's I was always toasty in some lightweight long underwear. Not only is this bag super warm, but it weighs nothing and compresses down smaller than a 1L nalgene! Great job mhw! Pros: -Weighs nothing! -Compresses down small than a 1L nalgene - Doesn't soak up water Cons: - leaves a nice dent in a college kids wallet (good thing I have promotive)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ultra Light vs Warmth Took my new Phantom 32 to Gorgonio Wilderness for an overnight. The bag is perfect in regards to weight and pack size, best UL investment so far! Although, it was slightly uncomfortable when the temps dipped into low 40's, mind you that we were sleeping outside without a tarp or tent. I had a down sweater and thermal base layer, still was a bit cold. Overall great performance!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with this sleeping bag. I purchased this bag as an upgrade to my existing backpacking sleeping bag. The main reasons I chose this bag were the weight and size when packed. I've used this bag on a half dozen occasions now, with the coldest night being a 16 degree F night. I remained quite comfortable in the bag, while wearing the appropriate sleep clothes. On nights where the temperature has been well with the bags specified limits, I've slept in shorts and t-shirt and remained very comfortable. The materials used on the bag are very lightweight and seem very fragile, but to date I've had no issues and expect the bag to be around for quite a while. The provided stuff sack seems a bit too tight, I have to really work to get the last bits of the bag into the stuff sack. I'm a little concerned that really jamming it in there may damage the down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bag This is a great lite bag, well worth it if you are looking to shave ounces off your sleeping system. I use it in conjunction with a Klymit Interix X-Frame pad inside the Phantom 32. This combination has keep me plenty warm so far, plus my sleep system is down to 32 ounces total (including stuff sacks). At 5'7" and 160 lbs I have plenty of room inside the bag. The zipper takes some getting used to and you can't horse it, or else you may get jammed up. The M.H. stuff sack is pretty tight once the entire bag is in, but takes up little room in the pack.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 32 Degrees - Not I was very disappointed in this product. I am currently and Appalachian Trail thru-hiker and purchased this because of its packability and lightweight material. I am quite a ways in and have stayed cold. Two nights ago it was 42 degrees and I had on thick socks, thermal leggings, underwear, shorts, a wool upper base layer, rain pants, rain coat, and toboggan. I had chills all night and it was 42 degrees!!! Last night it was 53 and I had all of that on minus the rain layer and was chilly. And it was 53!!! My advice, don't purchse this. At least get the 15 degree and it might be closer to what you want. I was hoping this bag could get me to Maine, but with many summer nights in the mountains dipping into the 50's I am going to have to search elsewhere. Where this bag makes up in weight, I will have to carry extra clothing just to stay warm. And I am a minimalist.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just right! I hiked the warmer part of the PCT (NoCal and Oregon) with this bag, and never wanted anything else. There are lighter bags with similar ratings out there, but they're often less roomy and to actually stay warm in those one has to shake the down into the right areas, make sure to sleep on top of the zipper and so on. Or, they simply don't deliver on the rating. I find the Phantom true to rating, comfortable to sleep in and a very light sleeping bag considering the features. And man, even long-distance hiking, I'll happily carry an oz or two for a good nights sleep!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Go-to Bag I recently purchased this bag for a backpacking trip to New Zealand's South Island, and it performed superbly. I couldn't believe how small the bag packs down to, and I didn't even notice the weight in my pack. As for the temperature rating, it got down to the mid-30's and rainy near the base of Mt. Cook and I slept comfortably. The DryQ Down stayed fluffy in wet conditions. This is my new go-to 3-season bag.
