Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and Warm Light and Warm! I ordered Dark Compass and Large. It looks great. Just what I need.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great insulation. Especially when paired with a soft shell. My go to for active winter sports. Perfect for February excursions in the Pacific Northwest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Light Midlayer for Climbing This review is climbing orientated. I am 5'8" 150lbs., and a medium fits great as a midlayer over a base layer. It is highly breathable, super stretchy, super warm jacket. When walking, you can feel air move through the jacket. The actual hard face fleece is less breathable than the grid fleece. This is not a stand alone piece, as a shell is needed when wind picks up. The hem length is long so that it stays tucked in under a harness. When wearing a harness/backpack with a waste belt, the hand pockets will be covered. The right hand pocket extends up to the shoulder, and is roomy enough for things like ski skins or gloves. The sleeve length is longer, but is great if you are constantly reaching above yourself, like in climbing. Thumb loops help you put on layers as well as add insulation in a glove. It is a little roomy in the arms, but I have scrawny arms, YMMV. The torso is more form fitting than the arms. Next, the hood is helmet compatible. While it is snug enough to fit around your head, it can stretch over a medium-sized helmet (Mammut El Cap for reference.) Finally, the zippers move smoothly and do not catch the fleece pile. There is an elastic hem, and while others have said it is cumbersome, I have not had a problem with it. As for long term durability, it holds up about as much as you expect it to. I climb on sandstone, and that rock type is not forgiving on this jacket. While it is susceptible to high abrasion, notably in the elbow and cuff region, it has held up better than expected. With about a year of moderate climbing in this jacket, I would say it is a great midlayer fleece jacket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great insulating layer This jacket is perfect for cool days or as an insulating layer under a shell. Very functional and lightweight. The only drawback was cosmetic. I purchased the gray and the color had a definite green tone instead of a pure gray. Otherwise, it's my new favorite fleece!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and Comfortable Hoody The Monkey Man Hoody is all I expected it to be. Warm. Handsome. Fits well. I'm 6 feet and 175 pounds and the medium is perfect for me. Got the black because it will go with anything. Really bought it to go into my backpack to wear under a shell jacket when it is cold out, but it's too nice a piece not to wear any time it's cool in the house or cold outside. Should be worn under a shell to take advantage of its warmth even if just a light windbreaker when it's cool to cold and breezy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Color and warmth I really love the color, and I absolutely love the ability to wear this whenever. It is very warm. I like it a lot. It fits well, and I think its stylish.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not too plush The jacket is described as not too bulky. This is true because the fleece is quite thin and therefore the jacket is not warm enough for winter (even in the moderate weather of the Bay Area) or for the price. The pheonix blue color is beautiful and the fabric is soft. The jacket is best suited to mildly cool weather. I don't recommend it for winter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from soft fleece Great product. Bought the large and though it fits fine in the chest and sleeves the bottom tends to make me look like a bell. It does have a draw cord at the hem but it only goes around half of the jacket. Sleeves are a bit longer to accommodate the thumb holes which is greatgreat, you get full range of motion and it doesn't seem to dig into the thumb web. Super warm but the wind does cut right through the sleeves the rest of the jacket seems to block a bitbit more of it out. Im 6'3. 165lb and feel like the medium may have been a bit small.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall Great Jacket, But Bad in Wind I gave this jacket a 4 out of 5 stars for a few reasons, the first is because I am very satisfied with how warm it is on a day with low wind, also because it is very light and comfortable. However, this jacket is very bad in the wind, I am aware that it isn't advertised for that purpose, but if you are considering this jacket for that reason, do not purchase it. Wind cuts through this jacket with great ease, if you hold it up to a light you can actually see through the jacket. This is because it has tiny holes all over it, which makes the jacket very breathable, but very bad in the wind. However, do not let this sway your opinion, this is one of my all time favorite jackets for everything other than wind. In conclusion, I would highly recommend this jacket for anyone who is looking for a lightweight, breathable, yet warm jacket.
