Rated 2 out of 5 by My 3rd Monkey Man Jacket... Huge decrease in quality I have owned several Monkey Man jackets. This is actually my third. Comparing this new one to my two older jackets, I can see and feel a huge decrease in quality. The material is significantly thinner and feels like it will not hold up against time like my older Monkey Man jackets which are still in good/great condition. As a college student, my backpack caused the back of my previous jacket to pill up, so I thought I would buy a new one to refresh. I am extremely disappointed in the decrease in quality. It's sad when companies decrease the quality but keep the price the same. December 26, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Warmer than expected Just had an excellent opportunity to test my monkey man fleece this weekend after spending some time in East Tennessee's Great Smokey Mountains. It paired real nicely with a T-shirt or a long sleeve shirt. As stated in other reviews it's not a jacket that you would want to get wet. It would pair well with a waterproof jacket as an insulator. I have one of the thicker mountain hardware rain jackets that I wear over it for a cold rain or sleet. I used it in weather as cold as 39 degrees over a long sleeve shirt and I felt very comfortable. As far as size or fit, I'm 6'2 240 and I ordered a XL. The sleeves were a little longer than expected but I'd rather have them longer than too short. Overall it's a great jacket and I'll more than likely purchase one for my wife. November 28, 2016

Rated 4 out of 5 by Great but a one-dimensional luxury... Bottom line: this thing works great at its intended function, but is limited in scope of use. I bought this thinking I'd use it as a mid-layer for snowboarding/backpacking and a walking around San Francisco layer. As it turns out, even for a fleece it has no wind protection. I might as well not be wearing anything. In addition, it isn't quite light or compressible enough for three-season backpacking. I'm not an ultralight guy, but I'd much prefer to take my Ghost Whisperer down jacket, which packs half as small, weighs half as much, and is more protective against wind and light drizzle. It's more expensive, but I get much better value out of it because I use it more. That said, when I wear this under a hard shell snowboarding or double it up with my Ghost Whisperer, I am WARM. And it breathes well enough I can work up a sweat and not feel like I'm suffocating. It's also nice as an outer layer on nights that are a bit chilly but not that windy, especially if you have to move at a brisk pace. All in all, it's great at what it does, but I wouldn't buy another one. Not quite versatile enough for my tastes. Fit: definitely trim, close fitting athletic cut. I am 6', 210 lbs, 43" chest with a 35" wait and a 17" neck. Love the fit, the only complain I have is I feel a little choked up when I zip all the way up. August 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent jacket and terrific warranty I purchased one of these Monkey jackets a few years ago and wore it everywhere almost year around. When the zipper broke, I contacted Mountain Hardware who requested I send in for inspection. They contacted my a week later and told me they will replace the jacket at today's cost. They gave me a full credit at the online store, i purchased the 2016 version of the jacket I sent in and they paid for shipping. Terrific company who fully and enthusiastically stands behind their superior products May 25, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great jacket. Warm and comfortable Love this jacket. It's ridiculously soft and warm. Nice pocket placement and very functional as an outer layer or inner layer in extreme cold. Sleeves are a bit long, but for being outdoors, I can slip hands inside if I don't have gloves. February 4, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great mid/base layer I have two Monkey Man Fleece jackets, and love them both. They work really well as a pull over for a cold day. NOT WINDPROOF. The wind whips right through so thats why it only qualifies as a fleece mid-layer. Cozy as can be for wearing around town or using as a pullover for backpacking. I would try one on before you buy because the length is the only minor issue as sizing goes. Im a 6ft 2in male thats rather lean, and it fits really well as to the more active style. The sleeves are longer than you might expect, but thats the best selling point on the fit of this fleece. covers your wrists and doesn't pull up when you reach for stuff. The overall length is a tad shorter than i would like. The benefits, however, are more than make up for this minor shortcoming. The best mid-layer/pullover that i would recommend. Mountain Hardwear is my favorite company since i do many outdoor hobbies from Backpacking to Skiing. Cant beat them. January 16, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by First Impressions Just received this fleece, and WOW! Softest one I've ever owned, and it is warm. The fit is nice and snug all around without being constricting, although the sleeves are really long. I'm 6'4" and the sleeves have about 4-5" inches extra length on them. This is not enough for me to send the jacket back, although I can't imagine a person with shorter arms liking this feature. Overall a nice jacket, and I can't wait to monkey around in the outdoors in it! January 7, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Light and Warm This is an excellent jacket for those who value warm but light weight clothes ... my husband has had one of them for 4 years ... almost no wear... we got the second one and planning on getting another one before next winter. January 6, 2016
