Rated 5 out of 5 by from A true Thru-hiker's dream Feather-light, packs down to a small ball and does its job keeping you warm after a day's hike. I highly recommend this superior product. Very well made! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket - Ghost Whisperer Hooded Down Jacket I bought my first Ghost Whisperer 3 years ago. I used it almost daily. I loved it so much I bought a new one. The only 2 drawbacks are: 1) They are expensive 2) It sucks when you snag them on something sharp and your down leaks. You can repair them with iron on tent patches but a hole in your favourite coat will make you sad (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wicked After two weeks with my black ghost jacket I had to buy the serpent green jacket too. I wore it today with just a long sleeve shirt in 15 deg windy conditions and it was plenty warm. It's greatest selling point is it's minimal weight and extreme warmth. You can scrunch it up to nothing. It seems like the material is somewhat durable. The hood is great and very warm. This jacket as a baselayer is a game changer. The only complaint is the zipper. It's not great. Maybe to keep the weight and footprint down? This is my fourth MH jacket and I have two that are over 5 years old. The zippers are rock solid on my first two. I really hope MH doesn't grow huge and loose their quality like everyone else. Regardless, I would recommend this ghost jacket to almost anyone in any situation, including survival.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My go to jacket I love this jacket. Long sleeve t shirt and it in the high teens and I'm comfy walking. 55 degrees leave the zip down comfy. Seems to do a nice job repelling light rain. This is my second one. The zipper really sucks. Trying to get it to release at the bottom is a chore. It's like using mud to repair a dent in your car. CHEAP, and they charge $340 for the jacket. I fight with it all the time because the jacket is perfect for me. But come on Mountain Hardware, this is so below your standards. You should give every owner a replacement zipper on you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Incredible This is, hands down, the best jacket I have ever owned. It is unbelievably warm for the weight, very breathable, and incredibly wind resistant. The versatility this provides is also second to none - I get compliments around town every time I wear it and this beast has kept me warm on climbs up Mont Blanc, Toubkal, and Triglav. I am a thin 6' (145 lbs) and medium fits perfectly with enough room underneath for layers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ounce for ounce this is the warmest poof on the market I'll start out with the bad. The recommended size is too small. I'm 6'0 180lbs and the chart said an M was in order. Sadly its a bit short and the wrists are too tight. If I'm wearing a GPS watch I need to remove the watch inorder to remove the jacket. Second is the color. The ice shadow isn't the most appealing. If I could, I'd swap it for a darker blue. Lastly, the toughness is about zero on the ghost whisper. Do not wear this in a place that can get snagged or pretty much touch anything. It can and will rip. wear a shell over it... On to the good- This poof is the lightest and warmest jacket I've ever owned, hands down. By using this jacket I feel like I can eliminate a layer as it conserves so much heat. Once you get moving I often find that it's too warm and have to dump heat constantly (a good issue to have with a jacket that's so light). But in the times when I've needed subzero protection, this jacket stepped up and performed like a champ. I also love how I can compact it down into it's own pocket and throw it in my pack in less than a minute. There's no question that this jacket will be with me on every outing. Good buy, good product, don't but that ice shadow PS- The hood is super a bomber fit and awesome for warmth.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love it, but could be more durable I've owned this jacket for a couple of years so it's time for a proper review. One thing to know before buying is that the fit is a bit on the small side so make sure you try it before. I really like the weight of this jacket, it's super light and pack small but I do have some issues with it. First, the threads are very easy to damage. You have to be very careful because they get easily caught in something, pulled and then break and then the separations between the rows of down are gone... The fabric itself is very light and you have to be careful, but I only have one hole so it's not that bad and basically any down jacket will experience some holes given the time. My other main issue is how the down will pack in certain spot and leave other parts completely empty of isolation. It happens mainly along the arms, near the elbow, the wrist and behind the shoulder. A slightly larger fit could potentially help with this, and putting it in the dryer with tennis balls helps to put the down back in place. One last thing, the labels on the fabrics will peel off after some time.
