Rated 5 out of 5 by Best jacket ever Best jacket I ever owned. It is compact light and warm, I take it with me to every hike or ski trip. It is awesome to wear it daily as well. December 15, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not a good idea... Firstly, I LOVE MOUNTAIN HARDWARE, but this is the first article I was not impressed with. I had to send this jacket back ASAP! It felt like it was going to tear when I put it on. I get the whole "Ghost" concept, but all my other MH jackets, pants, gloves and vests are built to last and take a beating. This jacket feels like tissue paper and did not seem durable enough, especially when you have to drop $300. December 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Treat yourself I've only had this jacket for about a month. I'm 6'2"/175, wiry and can leap tall buildings in a single bound. Right. Anyway, I usually wear the jacket to walk the dog at 5:30 am and it's been upper 30's. The jacket is super light and blocks the wind very well as long as you cinch around the bottom. I like it to fit a little roomy, but I could easily fit into a medium, which is unusual for me. I'm typically a large. I haven't seen the jacket perform in the rain or snow yet, but have no doubt it will do extremely well. I used the hood once on a windy night and it kept my neck and head very warm. I've also worn the jacket over just a t-shirt when it was about 40 and it kept me warm. Everyone has their own cold tolerances, but I enjoy being warm and usually need a good jacket to achieve that. The only semi-negative with this jacket is the zipper, which seems a little fragile. It gets hung up at the bottom and doesn't release until you pull with the other hand. That said, it's working fine. There are plenty of other jackets that are probably as warm and pretty light for less money. I splurged on this and enjoy the light weight. Get the jacket if you wanna treat yourself. December 3, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by $350 jacket that will never be taken into the woods I got this because i thought it would be a warm light layer i could throw in my bag for early mornings on late season fires. This jacket, while very warm, is the most flimsy piece of equipment I've ever purchased. From the get go I didn't trust it to stand up to a single day in the woods, but I figured im a MH fan so just keep it as something to wear around town. Even under these conditions the material has started ripping and separating. Ive owned the jacket for less than 6 months! I don't know when MH stopped making gear and decided to focus on fashion, but I don't think I will ever buy another product from you guys. I bought my shell 11 years ago and it's still holding up strong. What happened to the quality? This jacket is a glorified hefty bag that will probably find its way to the trash soon. Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Jacket EVER!! One of the best down jackets ever. Super lightweight, warm, and packable. One of the most useful things in my pack. November 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect for New Zealand trip Needed something extremely light, durable and small but warm for my bike trip around southern island of New Zealand. Very happy with the design and function of this jacket November 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by fantastic jacket I got this jacket a couple of months ago and it has been my go to piece. What really amazes me about this jacket is that even though it weighs practically nothing it keeps you surprisingly warm. I would definitely recommend this to all my friends. November 14, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Men's Ghost Whisperer™ Down Hooded Jacket My new go to jacket, super light and warm and great for layering under a shell November 9, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Layer Much research and ended up with the GWD; great layer after a few tests. Can't wait to really put this top through the paces! October 6, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by So Sweet I was mad psyched when this came in. I've had a variety of synthetic jackets (favorite being Patagonia nano air) and this guy crushes in the warmth to weight ratio. I'm an avid alpinist and this sucker is the best thing when you're climbing, belaying, etc. Mad packable, super warm. The fabric could be better, although it is super light pretty much my whole sleeves are a shimmer of patch work because of hand jamming, shouldering ice tools, etc. Keep in mind tears happen, but easy to repair. I love this thing and will run it into the ground happily August 23, 2016
