Men's Dynotherm™ Down Vest is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent light vest The medium fits great - I'm 175 pounds, 5'11" fit/lean build. I love the fit and look. Good fabric, not too loud. It is warm and light. I want to get the jacket to compliment it. I got fossil/peat moss and the fossil color is more of a light grey and looks good with most any other colors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from To help people with sizing I have found over all MHW apparel fits on the big side. I am 6'2 210lbs and the large fits me great. Most times I am fitting into XL with other companies. So beware if ordering online that the vest fits on the bigger side. Other than that its a solid vest with good warmth at a reasonable price. Zippered chest pocket is nice to have to keep a small camera or sun glasses handy. The two inside dump pockets I can see being great when taking gloves on/off while hiking. Good solid buy over all. Seems to be on sale somewhere at all times so shop around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great 1st layer Vest lives up to high Mountain Hardware expectations. Very thin and light as a winter layer, but still provides great warmth for the core. Perfect for a spring shell as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Fit I had been looking to buy this down vest for quite a while, and when I finally got around to it I was not disappointed! The quality is great, at 6' 180 pounds the size medium fit me perfectly. Mountain Hardwear has yet again proved themselves with a product featuring quality and functionality!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Duck down and feathers, not goose down Nice colors, good fit, right weight, well made. But this is not goose down; it's 80% duck down and 20% unspecified feathers. This is not noted in the product description, though a few reviews on Sierra Trading post for a similar jacket note the deception. I have been pleased with other MHW purchases, but will make no more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Functional and Stylish I've been using this vest quite a lot through this fall and winter and am very happy with the purchase. At 6'3 and 180 lbs I went with the Medium, I normally go with Large on Mountain Hardware but when not worrying about sleeve length on my gangly arms Medium was the right choice for a slim fit (the only other MHW piece I have in Medium is the Ghost Whisper down jacket). I use it as both a technical layering piece while skiing and a stylish outer layer around town, here's a break down. Pros 1. Weight to warmth ratio. At 10 oz this is an easily packable lightweight vest. It's not Ghost Whisperer light (which is 5 oz) but that's why it's $100 less expensive. The vest provides just the right amount of warmth, day's that are cold enough to want more insulation I just go with my Ghost Whisperer jacket. 2. Well organized. The hand warmer pockets are well placed with plenty of room, the chest pocket is a welcome addition that you won't find on the Ghost Whisperer vest, and internal drop pockets are also useful. 3. Stylish. I got the underbrush/shark color and love it. It's perfect to wear around town in the fall and spring. Cons 1. Plume loss. This is the one and only reason I give the vest 4 instead of 5 stars. The down plume loss has not been severe, but I haven't been impressed either. I was hopeful that in exchange for the added weight the fabric would resist plumes sneaking their way out more than it has. Overall I highly recommend this vest. The plume loss has not been severe enough to upset me, I just think it's the one area that could be improved upon. If you've got the cash and are looking for something strictly for lightweight layering go with the Ghost Whisperer. If you want a technically functional vest that is also stylish and practical around town the Dynotherm is what you're looking for.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mountain Hardware down vest Vest is average Quality. Nylon material is a bit "crinkly" and rustles when you wear it. Would have liked it if it was a little more flexible and soft. Not a lot of loft in the down insulation but it is warm enough for layering or to wear by itself. bought it when it was $30 off and it was still way over priced. Eddie Bauer and a few others have a down vest that looks very similar for around $75 and mine on sale was $120.
