Rated 3 out of 5 by nice jacket but too big This jacket is up to the normal MH quality standards and I really wanted it to work out but it is too large. I am 6'2" and 180 lbs and bought a Large. Some of MH's products seem to be athletically cut and some are not. This one is not. I had to return it because it is too loose so that it looks a little silly and certainly would let a lot of air into the jacket if windy. I will order a Medium when they replenish stock. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Pockety Unassuming Long Coat. Bought this coat online because it was black, plain, lots of pockets and long. My fur ruff coat caused way too much attention. With this coat there is no Mountain Hardware logo on chest to keep the eyes off of you so therefore it is unassuming which I was going for. Live in Chicago and walk, ride bike to work at midnight in this coat. Has been very cold here. Was 2 degrees and this coat was warm, except for hood, you need a beanie. Fits great. I'm 5-8 175. Went for the large. It fits a little big but that's okay. Center back length is great, and you don't have to worry about sitting down or riding bike in this. Goes to my thigh.. If you like pockets this coat is great. 7 pockets all together. Inside ipod pocket, glove pockets, wallet, key pockets. Zipper functions well and doesn't get stuck. Fits a little tight around neck when fully zipped, so scarf underneath, won't zip. Have to have scarf over the top. Nice warm fabric around wrists and chin. Only bad thing I could say about this jacket is hood isn't that warm.. Great unassuming long jacket, great for the city or anywhere else. Tired of seeing Northface logos, Mountain Hardware is original and less common which i love. January 20, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Comes as described. I don't give 5 star reviews very often, so a 4-star means a very good product. So, no complaints, just not a rave review. I am 5'11", 155 pounds, the medium fits very comfortably. The coat is very comfortable into the low single digits worn with a sweatshirt or light fleece underneath. The coat is designed to extend to about mid-thigh--a positive feature which provides some extra warmth-- but lower double front zip allows access to front pants pockets so you don't have to struggle to get at your car keys, etc.. Rated 5 out of 5 by Lightweight while very insulated, lacks advanced features Pros: Lightweight, soft surfaces, very well insulated. While not the waterproof type I am used to on my snowboarding parkas, the zipper is obviously designed to zip super smooth and be jam-free. Cons: Noticeable draft from bottom of the jacket on windy days -sometimes I really wish there was a cinch down there. Sizing: I'm a little over 5'10" -the size medium feels slightly long in the cuff. Coverage down to mid-thigh. January 8, 2014
