Men's Cordoba™ Pant 3.9 5 50 50
Sweet climbing pants... Have had trouble finding a tough, summer climbing pant that is not too hot to wear when the temperature starts to rise. I have found tough pants that lack mobility, and light pants that are not tough enough to stand up to the rigors of climbing. The Cordoba is the only pant that I have found that provides both mobility and durability and does so effectively. June 5, 2013
Like'em but... I'd ordered a pair of these in a size 33, my normal waste size, but they were tight enough the snap closure kept popping. So, I ordered a size 34 and they're a bit tent like, which was OK because I could cinch up the belt. The replacement for the snap is much better as it's much more secure, but, the cam on the belt won't stay tight on the webbing, so the pants tend to get loose as the cam lets the webbing slip past. I like the pants and hopefully the webbing cam combo will get more efficient with a few more washings?? March 24, 2013
Simple and functional. I needed a 100 percent cotton pant for my purposes. They are comfortable well made as all MHW clothing and look good I think. The pockets aren't large but just big enough and the fit is as good or better than expected. If you're tall the 34 length will be more than long enough. January 5, 2013
Why belt loops on only one side? For clothing that is supposed to be functional, I find it bizarre that these trousers do not have belt loops on the left side, but only on the right. I bought them after having quickly checked that I could wear them with a belt, and tried them on to check they fitted (they do). When I got home I saw that I should have looked more closely. Also, the tightening strap pulls the waistband apart and the popper is not robust enough to hold out against the strain. Fire the designer, who obviously has a tenuous grasp of the way trousers are supposed to work. July 17, 2012
Product has a great fit. These pants are great for an active person, plenty of room in the knees, and they have a little bit of stretch. Overall great fit. June 9, 2012
cordoba is cool light and comfortable fit; nice built in belt; only wish it came with regular belt loops for my own belt, maybe thats on a different model. well constructed pair of pants May 10, 2012
Huge I ordered based on others reviews on size and went with a 34-34. I'm usually a solid 32-32 in just about everything (5,11 175lbs.) and I was just swimming in these pants. The seemed big for a 34 with a 6'' gap on my waist line. Even with the "belt" cinched all the way they were still way too big. The quality and material seemed good, just the sizing was way off. Will be returning. April 26, 2012
Great pants but... Love these pants! I purchased all colors available. The issue here and the ONLY reason why I did not rate it as a 5 star is due to the inconsistency in sizing. Customer service was very helpful in reshipping (3X) alternate pants until I found my actual size. April 24, 2012
tight the pants i ordered were a 36x34.. They felt like a 30x34. I have to return them at my own cost, so I am not satisfied February 13, 2012
Corgoba Pant The pants fit well but the button is weak and unbuttons during certain moves and stretches. Also the belt is mainly for looks as it is not very sturdy. The side "beltloop" threads were nearly all pulled out when I received them, but as it is mainly a style accessory I did not feel it was worth returning them. January 12, 2012
Pay Attention to Sizing Comments I really wanted to like these pants, but I don't. The material and detailing are great (though the cinch is rather useless), but the sizing and fit is pretty significantly off in my opinion. I normally wear 32/32 in almost every brand but I can barely fit in a 33", and my proper size in these would easily be 34/34. Both the waist and length are off, if you are 5'10 or taller you must get 34" inseam. If you are over 6', they will probably look short. Even when one can get the sizing right through trial and error, the main disappointment was the cut itself - they are very roomy with wide legs and thighs for an active pant (not really as shown). I would prefer a much slimmer thigh and leg. Granted, I have skinny legs, and like modern, slim/straight jeans and pants, so if you have tree trunk legs you might find that these work well for you (just size way up). January 5, 2012
good but... great pair of pants but run tight, as if a person can have a butt smaller than their waist? also, comes w/ weak-built-in belt that buttons but there are only belt-loops on one side of the pants, for what reason? if I wanted to wear a belt to hold a knife, gun, whatever, there is no way. easy fixes for MHW January 4, 2012
Perfect My son was very pleased with his pants. He is an outdoor enthusiast but also wanted sturdy pants to wear to the lab. they fit him well and he looked grat in them. We also loved the option that you gave us for shipping the pants in a used box. We are big on sustainibility. December 29, 2011
good fit, awful quality Didn't last a causal day before the blew out. Sewed up nicely though, but too bad I had to do so. December 27, 2011
Good, strong material with comfortable movement Bought these pants after reading other reviews and they do run small. I usually am 34W 31L and I got 36L 32L and they fit perfect both dimensions. I really like the higher rise in the pants and the taper in the waist. The waist tapers in over the top of my hips. I can tell this will keep the pants up under a pack belt. They fit well through the seat and I have never had pants with legs that move like this. I have full range in the knees and seat, which I use at work as a chiropractor. I wore these to work and never had to worry about changing my stance or pulling up my pant legs to be able to adjust a patient. I can already tell these are going to be my favorite pants. I will likely be ordering a pair or two in other colors. December 19, 2011
Well made! These pants are well constructed. The material is tough, and they look great. I gave them four out of five stars only because they do run a tad on the small size. I normally wear 32x32 in jeans, but I ordered these in 33x32 due to other reviews. They fit just like all of my jeans do, but a tad shorter in the inseam. No big deal, but because the sizing is off, I ranked them down a star. December 10, 2011
Cordoba Pant Waist seems a bit small, I wear 31x32 wranglers but i had to order 32x32 to get these to fit! Look and feel great for everyday use from work to the rock face! December 8, 2011
Cordoba pant kudo's! I had the lightweight summer hiking pants for over a year and needed something for the snow/cold that just hit SW Colorado and these pants are amazing! I use them for snowshoeing, work, casual wear and they look/feel great! December 5, 2011
My new favorite pants I have worn 501's for decades, but now I found a suitable replacement. I love these pants: the way the fit, the thigh pocket, the color, and the cool belt system. My wife loves that I have some variety in my wardrobe November 14, 2011
Day to day go-to pant These pants are comfortable right out of the box. They are a mid-weight canvas that holds up to wear and tear, but are still soft and conforming. They look sharp enough for work, and I wear them right to the climbing gym to send the latest boulder problems. The sizing is a bit short and definitely small on the waist, especially after washing. I am 6'0 175lbs athletic build, and normally wear a 32-34 jean, in this pant the 33 fits perfectly (might even need a 34 waist if I tucked in my shirts or gained a couple pounds) and I definitely needed the LONG. November 3, 2011
2/4 Great Pant So i went down to the local outdoor store and tried on these pants to size them. After finding the correct pair, I proceeded to the MH website to order 4 pairs in 4 different colors. As of last year, none of my winter pants fit due to me losing 45 lbs.. Well the pants that fit were great!!! But the pants that did not were rather disappointing as all 4 pairs were the same model and size, but they all fit in varying waist sizes. Ultimately i will be returning and exchanging them for the exact same size in hopes of a true fit, but the consistency of the waist fit was quite a bit of a letdown. October 14, 2011
Cordoba Pant The Mountain Hardware Brand and Logo are synonymous with quality, comfort and durability. I couldn't ask for a better fit. I'm extremely satisfied with every MHW item I've ever purchased and own. The athletic cut and construction provides for a natural (tailored) fit to everything I purchase from you, thanks! September 19, 2011
Some flaws I bought these pants before reading any of the reviews, shouldnt have done that. To begin with I feel the length is a bit shorter than normal. To be fair though I think it has to do with the articulating of the knee stitching...they probably started out as the advertised length but lose a bit when they stitch the knee area. Order the next size longer. The other issue is the snap/belt arrangement. It keeps popping open when you bend over sit, etc...bad design as there is nothing to keep the pants buttoned. They only give you like 2 belt loops too so wearing a belt isnt an option. Its not a waist sizing issue because the waist fits fine. Pretty disappointed overall as I really like these pants, seem durable enough and look good. Bummed that I can't return them for a different size. September 7, 2011
Awesome, but wish they were more durable! Great pants, great fit, great mobility. I have a couple pairs and have worn holes in the knees in both pairs in ~3 months, but I guess pushing hard on your pants climbing Sierra Granite will do that! September 5, 2011
I love them I have these pants in two different colors I love them. I use them for hiking, traveling and a myriad of outdoor activities. They hold up well and are comfortable and so far they have been very durable, I am very hard on my gear, equipment and clothing. I just wish they had more belt loops for a concealed carry. They also look casual enough to wear out and about without looking like a lost tourist. August 30, 2011
Solid Crag Pant These are comfortable, burly pants ideal for cragging. They have a slim cut and a bit of stretch. The waist rides fairly high on me, which is nice for harnesses but slightly less comfortable sitting around the dinner table. The fabric is tough and reinforced in the right places to hold up to the hip-knee-butt scums that get you up the wall. The pants are perfect for cooler conditions, but the cotton breathes well. Like the Piero pant, it would be great to have a small thigh pocket on both legs instead of just one. August 24, 2011
Exact fit I'm 6 foot, 180lbs. I have a 33 inch waste and a 34 inch inseam. I ordered the 33 inch waste and 34 inch inseam and it was perfect. The waste wasn't too tight or too loose. Perfect! August 19, 2011
29" is not 34" The legs are 5" shorter than advertised. I'm 6' 2" and I wear a 33" waist and 34" leg. I ordered 36" waist and 34" leg. The waist fit snugly and these are clearly way too short (see photo). I had these shipped to Lone Pine last minute for my Mt. Whitney climb and I was extremely disappointed to see how short they were. Fortunately I had some gaiters to cover the gap between the pants and my boots. Last time I checked inseams didn't measure all the way to the waist band. And for the record, nobody calls it a pant. It sounds ridiculous. August 16, 2011
Great Pants! Bought them sight-unseen based on the reputation of the brand. Now my favorite pair of pants! Fit great, movement is natural, and I almost can't tell I'm wearing them. Stylish, yet totally functional. Love 'em, and will definitely buy another pair. June 29, 2011
First wear I just opened the box and tried these pants on and they fit great, thanks to the other reviews I read regarding the sizing. I wear a 33 waist 34 length. I ordered a 36W 34L and they fit perfectly. Length is true to size. The pants are very roomy for activity but still have an overall good shape to them. I would compare the material to a high quality pair of jeans--think Seven for all mankind... Soft but durable. June 15, 2011
Solid Pant I got this pant for climbing, hiking and camping. Wore for almost a week straight in Yosemite while hiking and climbing and the pants didn't disappoint. June 13, 2011
Cordoba pant (NO BELT LOOPS ON ONE SIDE) Dissapointed with the lack of disclosure on MHDWR's part that these pants have no belt loops on the left side. That is a no go for people who need to wear a duty belt for various reasons like concealed carry. Othewise like the pants, high quality, good fit. June 2, 2011
Great Pants! I bought these pants for a week long climbing trip to Red Rocks, NV. I wore them climbing 5 days and had no issues whatsoever. There's plenty of room and didn't restrict my movement a bit. They seem pretty durable, after a week of climbing and downclimbing sandstone I found very little sign of wear. They do run small in the waist and slightly long. Based on the previous posts I bought a 34 waist (I wear a 32 usually) and they were just about right, they did seem to stretch out a bit after wearing them for while. The length seemed to run just a little long, I roll the ends when I climb so it didn't really matter. Overall I'm very satisfied with the choice. Thanks!! April 22, 2011
Great Pant, if they fit I ordered two pairs of Cordoba, sizing up one size in the waist as suggested to 38-34. One pair fit great, not so much big in the waist as roomy, and when I got out on the trail the next day, they performed perfectly. The pants moved well with me as I went up a very steep graded trail. They handled a little mist and my tromping through waterfall runoff drying quickly. I didn't scrape them up, so I can't comment on their ruggedness. The other pair, however, was four inches small in both waist and inseam. Both pairs were labeled the same on the pants and the tags. I ordered a replacement for the misfitting pair, and when they came I found the replacement pair was now the right waist, but the inseam was four inches short again. Frustrating. I would rate these pants at a 4 or 5, but, from reading other posts it's clear MH needs to figure out what is going on with their sizes and labels. April 13, 2011
Read the reviews! I would have been terribly disappointed had I not read the reviews when sizing my order. I went with a 36/34 when I usually wear 32/32. The fit is great now. The material of the pants feels great for a good durable hiker/climbing pant. I don't know if I'll take them on my longer backpacking trips as they're a little heavy, but they are very comfortable and look great. I enjoy the design of the pockets, and look forward to testing them against some good rock. April 11, 2011
Way Too Small I bought these for myself but ended up giving them to my son. I wear a 36/38" waist and I couldn't even get them up. I gave them to my son who wears a 34" waist and they fit perfect. You guys need to check your sizing!!! March 15, 2011
Great pair of pants. Make sure you listen to the reviewers and order up a size. I did and they fit great. Very comfortable and almost pass as a pair of pants to go to work in. My only gripe is that every time I sit down the button unsnaps even though there is plenty of room in these pants. March 10, 2011
Great Pants I read in some other reviews that you should order these pants one waist size up, so I did. The fit is great and I am thinking about ordering another pair. They seem very durable but the material is light and breathable. March 4, 2011
Best Pants ever owned These pants are great for several different reasons. I am tough on pants and these are super durable especially when climbing. They feel great and have good mobility. They seem a bit heavier than other pants but it is worth it. I usually get my pants a bit bigger anyway and when I got these they were a perfect fit. I love the integrated belt loop and the easy snap on button closure. They look great and I love to wear them everyday work or when climbing. February 25, 2011
Cordoba Pant Runs Short For those guys that are going to but the Cordoba pants, be very cautious about the length. It is my opinion that the waist size was as advertised, however the length was at least 3-4 inches shorter than marked. They looked like they would have been a sturdy pair of pants otherwise, just order them as long as you can!! February 18, 2011
perfect climbing pant love them. great around town and exceptional at the crag. excellent mobility and very durable. perfect for a cool spring or fall day of sport climbing. they fit a bit high like slacks but still look quite stylish. go a full size up in the waste and you will be set. January 26, 2011
Great Pant I had been looking for a nice canvas pant from MHW for awhile when I stumbled across these. I was skeptical on ordering them, though, because their products fit me some where between a Medium and a Large depending on the item. I researched a good bit online, and I found reviews here and else where stating, "go up a size or 2 in the waist but the length is good." I did that, and they were great. They do shrink up a bit, but after wearing them a few minutes they go back to original size. I wear a 32x32, and I got the 34x32. They have ample room, and spacious openings on the bottom to fit over your shoes. Good looking pant, and great feel. Sizing is small, but I think that is just the way MHW makes their pants (slimmer). January 7, 2011
Great pants These are Mountain hardware's version of a chino, or casual cotton pant. For the fellas who need a cotton pant that is good for hard work, mountaineering, or lo pro work, this is the real deal. Aggressively articulated for bent knees, and extra leg room for big movements. The coolest feature is in the crotch. No blowouts, I promise. The seam from the zipper down to the inside seam is only an inch long. Instead of over engineering the crotch with uncomfortable material and extra buildup, they just put a patch there instead. They are also fairly light, so they won't be too hot in the summer. For you guys who draw weak side, these aren't your pants. These are made for climbing, and have a few belt loops on the right side, and none on the left. So if you need to bring the chalk bag to the front, then sweep the bag out of the way, you can easily. Order the size you wear in a suit. Not jeans. December 24, 2010
So far, so good Right off the bat, these fit a bit small. I wear a 33 and had to move up to a 34 (and could probably go 35). The length seems fine to me though. Construction seems solid and they are a very comfortable inside and out (in terms of feeling "broken in"). I will say this - the customer service was excellent. I ordered these online and, when I found a small construction flaw, they were great in getting me set up to return them and getting the new pair out right away. Person was professional and a pleasure to deal with. December 14, 2010
Good Looking, Feeling Great and Ready to Rock! Just got these from the Employee store in Portland. The pants have a great soft feel, yet super durable. Sizing is a bit on the small size for the waist(had to go up one size), but the length is a tad on the long side (at least for the 32"). The cut of these pants is generous with a straight leg and wide openings. The built in belt does go all the way the around the waist band and seems to work well. No extra belt required. November 18, 2010
Nice, Comfy Pants Fit is great, very comfortable. Belt thing is goofy and unessessary, but doesn't affect fit. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is the snap at the top of the zipper pops open way too easily (yes, I got the right waist size). A button may be a better choice here. October 29, 2010
Nice work/casual pant The pants look great and are a nice weight for working outdoors but not to heavy to be uncomfortable lounging around. The waist seems to run a bit small. I am usually a 33" waist and the 34" pants that I have are snug. The pants are wide at the bottom and easliy slip of snow boots. October 28, 2010
Comfortable Pant Love these pants. Just got my second pair. Very good fit, attractive styling, would highly recommend. I don't see a problem with the belt as long as you order the right size. I consider the belt "style" a plus because you don't have to undo it to take off the pants or go to the bathroom. October 4, 2010
Quality Pant This is a medium weight pant that is made of a very comfortable fabric. The cut, feel, and fit are very nice, however the 'belt' on it leads something to be desired. It merely bunches up any slack in the waist at the fly and does not spread the weight aroung the waist like a real belt would, big thumbs down on that and it takes a lot of work to remove it otherwise this would be a five star pair of pants.
