Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome Pants Super Versatile From the moment I put these pants on; I wanted to buy more right away. They fit perfect on me; 5'9 150lbs, the 4 way stretch moves right with you, I have had no problem scrambling around on rocks and backpacking in them. The mid weight is great for those brisk nights out or an early morning ascent! They also look great out on the town, I went from the trail to a fancy dinner and the were stylish and functional. I wish I had 10 pairs! September 15, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Slim Stretchy I finally found the world of stretchy soft shell hiking pants. Wanting to add to my collection more pairs that are functional hikers yet styled to survive the harsh office environment too, the Casual Midweight Chockstone was a no brainer. I'm 6'2", 203lb, and ~16%bf. As everyone seems to mention sizing down, I ordered a 33W 34L as I normally wear a 34/34. However the fit was too small for my liking. The waist was probably okay but the fit of the pant is very slim for my liking. I hike a lot so I've got quads and a butt which I don't really want to put on display in the office. I sent back for a 34/34... honestly they fit just like the 33's so I had to move on. Other than that I wish the fit of the Midweight Casual was better for me because even as a slim pant they were "Oh so comfy!" Great materials and workmanship. I love the Mountain Hardwear "Shark" theme but as another reviewer mentioned, the orange stripe on the side in addition to the orange zipper were also strikes against wearing in harsh office conditions. I will say to the Chockstones benefit, these pants and others like them have changed my life. I plan to lead a movement to push for stretchy pants for all mankind! I do recall trying on a pair of the Alpine Chockstones in a Lg waist & 34L which for those the fit was perfect. I'm planning to get some of them for snowshoeing but have to wait to see if the Mixaction pant comes back so I can look at those first. July 22, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Most comfortable pants ever. There really is nothing else to say other than these pants are THE ABSOLUTE most comfortable pants I have ever worn. I wear cammies for a living, which are normally quite comfortable...but these raise the bar to a whole other level. I will definitely be buying another pair. Perfect sizing. I wear a 33/30 and these fit me perfectly (ordered a 33/30) June 30, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best pants I have ever owned. When I received my first pair of these they blew my mind with how comfortable and stretchy they were. I didn't know that pants like this existed! I do not climb much, but just wearing them for other activities is awesome. I have already ordered more. I usually wear a 34/32 in most jeans, and the 33/32 fit perfectly. I'm about 5'10" and 195lbs with med athletic build. June 10, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by baggy Comfortable pants, great stretchy material, but waist size is larger than labeled. If you buy them order a size smaller. June 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Pants Great looking, comfortable, functional and durable. You can't go wrong with these. In case you are wondering - yes I really like these pants. April 22, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by A super Guide pant, whether rock climbing or traveling or hanging out in town or home ! Just great! This is the first pair of Chockstone pants that I own. And I love them !!! I bought the Cigar color and they look fantastic. I hope Mountain Hardwear comes out with the color Black......as I need a pair in black as well !!!! :) The feeling is soft, stretchy and super comfortable. I could have worn the size M, but went with Large to have a little more comfort when teaching and climbing. I'm a Rock Climbing Instructor and love a neat Guide looking/fitting pair of pants.....and these fit the bill perfectly !!!!! I like the new right hip pocket design with the zipper. Very nice. Allows for zipping and securing my wallet whether climbing or around town/casual. March 23, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Pants So I just got these pants last night and I really like them so far. They stretch incredible well in the knee area (where it counts) and the pockets are a good size. ideally I like a slightly deeper pocket, but I could see how this wouldn't be ideal for the purpose that these pants were intended for. Im a 32 right between that and a 33 and the 32 fit me very well. I own the First ascent Guide pants and some other Omni-shield Columbia pants and so far these take the win. for 5 dollars more then the Guide pants its well worth it. My only problem so far with these pants is that there is a darn orange strip on the side that is about 2 inches long by the pocket. this doesn't show up on the pics here and it might just be on the dark gray pants, but its super annoying for me. the orange is also where the fly is. other then that they are great. highly recommended. the zipper pocket in the back is an awesome addition too. one last thing, I was very torn between these and the pair with the built in belt and the zipper pockets. I had tried those on before and really liked them. im very happy I bought these instead. the zipper pockets are a pointless feature for everyday use but great for climbing or anything like that. the belt, though practical, isn't something that I need built in. I would recommend this as an alternative if you are mainly looking for everyday use and some active use over the other pair. February 26, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice but... Let's see. The basic concept of the pant is great. But one of the front pocket seams herniated the first time I did a deep knee bend. Will repair myself. The fabric is pretty light...hard to believe that this is the "midweight" softshell. The light stuff must be like paper then. February 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by So incredibly versatile I have used these pants over 4 times a week for 2 months now. I needed khaki colored pants for my job at a resort and I wanted something good for hiking too. Well I got an unexpected benefit when I forgot my ski pants one day. I ski in them almost daily now and they really are waterproof. I don't like insulated ski pants because I get far too hot for any day above around 15 degrees. I have had more crashes than I can count in these and I have yet to see a torn seam and are comfortable to wear all day. My only gripe is that they fit far too large. I am normally a 33 and these things feel like 34-36 February 20, 2015
