Best coat This is the best coat I've ever owned. My wife gives it thumbs up!!!!!!!!!! March 5, 2014
warm and dry we skied several days with new snow every day and strong winds. The jacket kept me warm and dry. The hood fit well over my helmet. Lots of pockets to keep gear accessible. March 5, 2014
nice and big im 6ft 6in. tall and i got the xxl size. love every thing about it . great colors . February 8, 2014
Size I ordered the Artisan online so was unable to try it on first. I'm only writing this review in case somebody else is looking at this jacket and wants a size compare. I'm 5'11", 165lbs, slim physique, I generally wear a medium for all clothing so that's what I ordered and it was WAY too big. I sent it back and exchanged for a small and even the small was too big. Would be a great jacket, just keep in mind if you don't get a chance to try on first. Also, the Maple w/ orange highlights would be a great jacket for hunting. February 3, 2014
We have mega windchills, negative degree temps, and the core is warm! Very wind proof , very warm, yet lightweight. I am 6'3", 185 lb and large is a perfect fit. My wife thinks it looks good, always a plus! About to take it skiing after wearing the same Patagonia for 20 years. Looking forward to it. January 5, 2014
Light heavyweight champion After suffering through a few winters with an old OmniTech jacket, I finally said, "enough" - I went to the local outfitters and asked for their warmest, most versatile jacket. Without hesitation, they pointed me to the Artisan. I liked the styling of it - semi-athletic cut, below-the-seat coverage, simple trimming. Fitwise, I'm 6'4" and 175-pounds, with a 75" wingspan. The large fit me best, although it was a little bulky in the torso. Arm and overall length was perfect. Functionally, it's top-notch. I no longer feel like the Michelin Man (like I did with my OmniTech). Movements are free and easy, pockets are easy to access (and there are a TON of them). The mp3 player pocket with headphone pass-through hole was a welcomed touch. Zipper pulls are easy to grab with gloved hands. The hood is huge, yet stays completely out of the way when not in use. Out in the elements, this thing is a beast. I'm normally always cold, but even in the -0s that we've had over the past few days, I've stayed plenty warm. Thank you for the pit-zips; I'd probably be too warm without them. The jacket's efficiency is really impressive; there's no bulk, yet it keeps you toasty warm. It's also great at blocking wind. My only gripe? The liner generates a lot of static. I thought it was from my merino wool sweater, but I wore a cotton sweater today and am having the same problem... I get shocked every time I take off the coat. Minor gripe, given how excellent the jacket is. December 12, 2013
Great value for money Had bought 1 month ago. I'm 6" tall. And in Canada, already sub zero degree right now. I am using this jacket for daily basis, and thinking bring this for skiing this season. Up to now, this works perfect! Truly warm and always keeps me dry. I cannot see any difference between GORE TEX stuff, or even better than that. Also it is very lightweight, and not so hard as GORE TEX, and block chilly wind enough. Even insulation seems not so thick, it really worm. Thanks to thinner insulation, body shape looks slimmer than usual down jac. Anyway, congratulation MHW staff, it is highly recommendable for wider usage in winter. If I add micro down jac underneath this, it would be extremely bearable in very cold atmosphere. Thanks and have a good cold winter! November 28, 2013
