Reviews

Men's Alpen Plasmic™ Ion Jacket is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent step up from the regular plasmic I bought the regular plasmic to use as my lightweight packing and hiking shell, but had problems with moisture build up during really hard exertion. I still have the jacket for around town wear, but got the Alpen Ion for high exertion activities. It's great! While not up to the breathability levels of Dry Q Elite, with the pit zips open, I can stay dry while hiking and packing in the rain. A bonus is that whatever MH uses for their DWR works great - the jacket sheds beads of water like a duck. On a recent bc trip, during a heavy rainstorm, my wife's fairly new Marmot Precip wetted out right away. She took one look at my jacket and wanted one. Guess what she's getting for Christmas? The only things I've found better than this are MH jackets made with Dry Q Elite. In the inexpensive realm, this jacket blows away the offering from all the other major manufacturers I've tried. Really no comparison.
