Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by "good" for business I bought this pack as a better quality pack for work, both in the day to day train commute as well as airline travel. For the most part it is perfect: it balances the weight of the laptop, cords, ipad, etc.... better than previous packs, is comfortable and easy to use, and looks good. The only things I would improve are: - The top handle is on the thin side, plenty strong but lacking in padding. Not very comfortable when carrying it by hand through a crowded train. - Lack of pen/business card style organizers, the only option is to use either the small pouch on front, or one of the side (water bottle) pockets. - Back breathability - the back is very comfortable and feels great, but after a mile walk to the train I can feel the lack of air moving. Rated 4 out of 5 by Decent pack for school, Great for travel Great backpack and Looks great. I bought Frequentor 30L to replace a popular backpack that I had for about a year. This bag is much lighter but feels noticeably less sturdy. I've used it now for 4-5 months and I can say that it is quite large but distributes its volume vertically. Fits everything I had in my old bag (I'm a med student so the occasional textbook, binder, folders, Macbook Pro, iPad) while being lighter and less bulky. The shoulder straps are pretty thin and at first glance would be disappointing given the price of the pack but are very comfortable and once the sternum strap is attached, it feels great. I'm able to carry a heavy load fairly comfortably. The pack is very deep so a textbook only reaches about half the total length of the pack. It lacks pockets for smaller items and organizational features. The computer compartment is a nice touch and would be useful in security checkpoints. I could definitely image this bag being much better suited for weekend trips. Cons: 1. The carry handle on top of the pack is way too small for this large of a bag and I have a hard time trusting it with my normal load. The daisy chain that forms the handle is already starting to show wear. I would also recommend another handle on the bottom of the pack. 2. Shoulder straps don't seem to be attached to the pack very sturdily and I question the durability of the attachment. Only time will tell and so far its doing well. 3. The side pouches are ok for accessories (I use them for my chargers and cables) but not the best for a water bottle. An improvement would be to use an elastic fabric instead of the nylon fabric currently there, to allow the pocket to be stretchy and a separate electronics compartment. 4. Front zipped compartment is way to deep to have any real use and as another reviewer mentioned, if the main pack is full, the front compartment becomes less accessible. It should either have an accessory organizer built in or be divided into two separate compartments accessible from the outside. Overall I really like this pack and have gotten a few compliments on it. I look forward to seeing the next version of the bag June 11, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by frequentor 30L I am a wildland firefighter and I use this to carry my every day stuff like running clothes, lunch, toiletries and electronics. So far it has been an upgrade over my last pack. The side pouches for drinks can handle all my water bottles of different sizes and zip up nicely to secure them. The laptop sleeve is nice and holds my 16 inch laptop but probably nothing larger. My main concern/ problem is that it doesn't stretch out so if you fill the main compartment your other ones are not very useful. Wish i could have same pack but in 40L. Other wise I like it and I will try and do another review later on durability. April 29, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice pack for my daily commute I walk to work and my old Jansport pack has always been a little small on its carrying capacity. This new pack feels really good on my back even with a lot of weight in it. I think a more useful review would be the one I write 5 years from now. Most gear is wonderful when it is brand new and untested. This pack will need a few seasons to prove itself. Mountain Hardwear should contact me in 5 years and ask me how my pack is doing. Rated 5 out of 5 by Bombproof Currently using as a bag to organize flight gear and as a carry-on. Material is tough. Really tough. can't imagine and object that could punch through the fabric. I would like to see a few more pockets internally for organization purposes but I love this product! March 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect Bag for Travel I purchased this bag in early November and use it every day for business and travel. The clean design and storage layout allow for excellent access. Better than expected! November 22, 2014
